Silver!
Oh wow! A9 to Dalwhinnie, then onto Laggan and Newtonmore and back down the A9. I was intending to meander back along the old A9 where it was available, but time got the better of me and I promised I'd be back by 0930 for breakfast and I was already late due to camera stops.Roads and weather perfect on the way up, bit busier on the way back down, but a good excuse to do some 4th gear fly-byes...140miles and 1/2 tank of fuel.I need to see what I have on the camera. Silver!
01 by Ray Crabb, on FlickrAfter having to drive the A9 to Inverness for work, in a hire car which I hated, on what was one of those early mornings which make one happy to be living in Scotland; clouds rolling off the mountains and sitting in the glens, clinging to the tree tops with a touch of snow on the tops and a blue sky. I thought I would get up early-ish on Saturday and take a blast if the weather was nice. And boy was it nice. Frosy screen with blue, blue skies...02 by Ray Crabb, on Flickr...and a frosty roof.03 by Ray Crabb, on FlickrScreen was soon cleared. So with a flick of the aero blades to clear the "scrapings" I was off northward bound. Here's my basic route should you be interested. Newtonmore or bust...
