  1. 085 box is far from tough,Google 085 gearbox problem, poor maintenance is to blame for some but not all, chocolate box more like.
  2. Not many here as weren't released here, they are a few about like but come up rarely
  3. as I said still have to resize and a pain in the arse
  4. still have to resize pics to use, its a right pain in the arse.
  5. Should be getting around 14v across battery when car running, modern cars act very funny when not given the correct power to them, clocks are like Christmas lights. get alt checked but my money says its dead.
  6. White smoke is water/moisture. blue smoke is oil. if you do a lot of short trips so car never runs up to temp properly you can get white ****e under oil filer cap, breathers etc. if you decent miles at temperature the moisture is coming from somewhere else. if youre not loosing any coolant and just got the car, it might be from a previous problem, if so i would give oil change etc, clean out all breathers and oil cap, flush coolant out and refill with water/antifreeze mix. normal mix is 33% anti freeze but you can go to 50% if your engine runs slightly hot. now head gasket probs either dump water into the oil ways or put compression into the water ways or both. if blowing into water ways with expansion tank cap off you would see bubbles and be able to smell petrol/exhaust fumes, if water goes into oil youre water level would drop by the amount of the leak and you get the white ****e. for small leaks to get you over put a bottle of K-seal in and monitor. to clean coolant bottle remove and use a dish washer tablet and shake, blocking the holes of course, or buy new they are cheap.
  7. check both sides, the drains are where the wires for you side wing indicators pass through and dont forget your ecu is under there too so too much water and your in bother.
  8. Firstly I am sorry about your car, I hope you don't get it back as i would feel the same, the second thing is I hate mk2's sorry. 3rd i work for a company who makes doors/ windows and you would **** yourself if you saw how easy it is to get though older doors, make sure your next doors are fitted with anti bump and anti snap barrels and also have barrel guards on and a decent set of handles not cheap paper thin ally ones.
  9. Happy birthday Scotty, next time I see you Ill punch you in the eye, cos you love that ****.
  10. Without spending loads GTi brakes would be ok, With spending loads GTi brakes would be ok. Turbo or supercharger G60 carriers and disks up front.
  11. My first car on the road was a Vauxhall viva , but being driving since the age of ten on private land, we had a tractor, a mini and a opel kadet, fun times, the tractor was our recovery vehicle to pull the cars out of the beck at the hairpin lol.
  12. More fun the other way round tho ,
  13. Welcome fellow makem
  14. New one sucks, I know its easier to Mod and that and I respect that but if we took the easy route all the time, we would all drive Bog standard cars, wheres the fun in that. should be a format to sell too and a clear set of rules, if you break them get a 3 month ban from selling and add removed. Simple as that.
  15. Also check for damage to the lamba sensor wires at plug for first lamba, when one of my wires snapped the throttle almost turned to a on off switch when cold.
