well guys what can i say........i got my lupo the way i wanted it, got all th wee nigaly problems fixed under waranty car was running awesome, looking the dogs life in the GTI lane was bloomin' terrific (please excuse the language).......................then get the word that i'm starting a new project in newcastle and i'm going to be doing a load of mileage per week now i love the GTi, best thing i ever baught with my hard earned money (even if the stealer i bought it of were a bunch of useless feck up's) but i came to the hard decision that the GTi had to go because of fuel consumption, and the milage factor (didn't want to depreciate the cars value to much) so i went about selling her (on hear, various VW websites etc.etc) so after alot of time with some interest but no buyers i decided to part exchange her for a small sensible little car start my own insurance policy generaly save some cash for 2 years then buy a new Golf GTi or somthing daft like that............so i bought a brand new clio, quite smart, nothin fancy, great on fuel, slow as crap.

done all the paper work on sunday, car would be ready for collection on wednesday!........this is where it hit the fan big style!

driving home from work on tuesday doing bout 70mph...........BANG!....... holly crap dash lights up like crimbo tree lost all power engine screams it's tits of..............the drive shaft had snaped and wrecked the whole underside of the car, snaped engine mounts, bent lower arn, coocked the breaks with breaking so heavily overall the car was a total mess.

got towed to my local stealer n they couldn't beleive it they had the car for a week and their words were.........."we don't know how this manage to leave the forecourt the way it did") the mechanic didn't thik it had been in a smash but he thought it had been droped of a ramp, hence all the work that was done under warranty when i picked the car up on the front end.

they fixed the car under warranty but it feels really crap to drive making funny noises and it's pulling to the left......basically it's ****ed!

told the garage that i was trading the car in to and they were pretty decent they were going to get more work done on the car (all under warranty)

overall this car was ment to be the best thing ever but it has turned out to be the most unlucky lupo GTI ever i think.

so all in all stay away from a red LUPO GTI---SH02 YMY.

am gutted, totaly gutted!

sorry this is soooo long but needed to get it of my chest folks.

Thats terrible, when did VW become so useless?

Erm, have they ever been as good as VW would like you to believe? They've definitely gone down hill though and as much as I love my Lupo if Ford or a Jap manufacturer made the same car I'd be very tempted to choose their version for the reliability (and it would doubtless be cheaper and better specced).

VW still better than Peugeot though!

I deal with Merc, VW, Ford and Iveco commercial service everyday of the week.

As you'll know, when your representing the largest company in the UK, the service you'd get would be much better than from your genuine car dealership.

trust me, its not just VW service thats poor.

Ford are shocking.

I meen really, really bad.

VW are poor, make no mistake, but there no way near as bad of the likes of Ford.

I think the whole service departments nationwide are bad for a reason.

the fitters are no long fitters.

Were talking technictions, given basic training, on the vehicals they are working on, and given training on the computer software they'll spend 25% of thee time on.

True but we get through a lot of company cars at work, mistreat them and do around 35k a year in them so shows up fault in the cars themselves pretty well. VW have had a lot of problems, Peugeots are absolute *****, one colleague literally drove a 307 into the ground in 6 months, engine just seized. The one model that never gave any probs was the Focus. As you say service is just cack as with all dealerships but the car itself is solid as hell.

from my experience, most company car drivers don't drive the car like it's their own. but i must agree on the peugeot 307, my cousin had so much trouble with his, and always when he was a long way from home too!

it's dishartening.......in my opinion the stealer that i bought the car from didn't want anything to do with the car or me..............n trying to get them to listen to my problems and listen to what im saying (basicaly saying i didn't have a clue about lupo's), it just gets me pissed that coz my dad signed the finance agreement (i payed for the car) and i'm only 19, they did'nt want to know. unless your 40 with a family and 20,000 to spend most VW dealers don't want to touch you. know what i mean?

i hate people who dont look after there cars, its just pointless, we had a customer bring his volvo C70 convertable in work this week, only a 52 plate with dents, scrapes, scratches all over it, inside was a mess. The thing is hes now spending aload of money on it to get it put right just to sell it, if he only looked after it he could of saved himself alot of money. But i suppose people dont care.

My dad used to have company cars, he always looked after them like there were his own, wen he had to give them back the people used to point out how clean and well looked after it was. Quick wash every week is all it needs
