99hjhm
soz bossThere must be people on her insured with Admiral lower than 50mm. Ask them why. PS.. Maybe you should report this topic to a moderator and have it moved as it's not related to interior or ICE.

nfbr
just dont tell them. simplesFailure to declare modifications is not clever... In the event of an accident, a claims assessor looks over your vehicle, (which they probably will) they are savvy enough to realise if a car has or hasn't been lowered.Once they've reported that your car is modified when the insurance policy states that it isn't, you WILL be landed with a Criminal record for insurance fraud and be required to attempt to defend yourself in court. Once you have a criminal record for insurance fraud, all insurance companies you approach in the future will be aware of this! Somewhere between 60% and 80% of insurers won't even quote you if you've commited insurance fraud. As well as this, if someone reports you to your insurer, they will find evidence of it, then cancel your insurance contract. (again, You'll be on the list for Insurance fraud) Edited May 9, 2010 by nfbr

IDGM
its my mams policy cos i have a works van so im second driverThat implies that your Mam is the main driver of the vehicle. Again, you need to ensure that she is, rather than using her as a get out of higher premiums otherwise the insurers may take a dislkie to you when you need to claim.Putting your mother on as a named driver is OK and probably will reduce the premium, just make sure you declare the correct main driver.Regarding mods, particularly your lowering dilema, just lower it 50mm. Better to stay within the boundaries of the policy that not, paying the premium would be pointless if you went to far.I should add that I'm not condoning driving without insurance. I'd kill him if he crashed into me without it. Edited May 11, 2010 by IDGM
dene4638
its my mams policy cos i have a works van so im second drivernamed drivers under 25 are not covered by directline on modified cars, you phone them up and declare them and they will remove you from the policy, talking from experience here, trying to declare weller steel wheels on a polo, 45minute phonecall and that was the outcome for me.and you wont get done for insurance fraud.. they threat with this but always help the customer out.I had a guy pull out infront of me, wrote my car off, had undeclared suspension, alloys and full exhaust. what they did when the report was filed was bump my excess up to 900 quid and said my policy had increased by 75 quid a month and due to the claim id have to pay the outstanding 10 payments.. so yes its not clever to drive with undeclared mods but in almost all cases you will not get a criminal record but the insurance will shaft you in the event of an accident..oh and if your with directline the policy will be listed with the police as a non modified car so the rozzers will know your driving undeclared and if they choose to, give you 6 points sieze your car and give you a 250 squid fine on top. as you would be dring with an invalid insurance policy Edited May 11, 2010 by dene4638
Silver!
I'm with Admiral and my car is only lowered by 50mm. I know I measured it with a steel rule. Thay stole £196 off me for the pleasure, but at least this year it's quoted as £159.
