olethalb
i had a busy weekend doing a certain clio :-X and a polo oil pump/cambelt, ibiza cupra sump, new rear caliper and brake bleed and transporter brakes and battery so i got nothing done on the arosa at all.good news is a got some box section for free to weld in to mount my bucket seats.bad news is the budget has taken another hit, on ebay again - i bought some old school mirrors, some cheapy 3 point harnesses plus the dizzy cap and rotor arm cost ~ £60 so i've now spent £751 so there's £249 left in the pot, i should have sold the rear belts today so that's £10 back in the kitty. i've only got the head, stealth shelf, sttering wheel and 16v clocks left to sell and try and claw some cash back.Olly

olethalb
thank bud.i got a bit done after work tonight, got my box section and chopped it down to size, then i positioned the seat where i wanted it to sit and marked it up - as the front support was higher than the rear i tacked a straight edge on to make sure the slope was even.now it was all where i wanted it i sanded the tunnel and inner sill ready, then welded them in i also tacked it the brackets for the inner mounttrial fitted the seat and they were bob on so i welded them in placetrial fitted the seat again all was good so primered the welds the drivers side was done so repeated the same on the passenger side and trial fitted both seatsi'll trim all the carpet and plastics up tomorrow, paint the welds and bolt the seats in properly.Olly
olethalb
seems the purchase of the lupo bumpers have fallen through so i've been refunded £65. i'm back down to £686 now so i've sent my mate to gsf to get my new track rod ends, fresh oil and filter for her.should be able to bolt the new subframe setup up soon, few more bits then bodywork can commence.Olly

olethalb
well yesterday i didn't get much done, just mounted my mirrors as i had to rebuild a head for my mate.my new uprated wishbone bushes arrived todayso i set about building up the new subframe with all the new parts, one of the wishbones were in a sorry state and both bushes were shot! luckily i already had a spare wishbone in good nick in the shed.also had some new fron bushes hanging about so i popped them in too.pressed the new rear bushes infitted the rack to the subframe with the new track rod ends, fitted the wishbones up with the new bottom ball joints gave it all a wipe over then fitted it up.Olly

marcusgrant
You always seem to be able to this out of your shed that you need! How big is this shed?! Not sure on the bonnet really, maybe once its painted it will suit it.
olethalb
thanks LGG, i'm not 100% sold on them just yet.Marcus - i'm hoping it will sit better when it's all the same colour and my shed isn't that big just having owned 70 cars and modified 85% of them means i have alot of parts kicking about from prior projects.i tried my hand at retrimming my doorcard last night in faux leather, wasn't very successful but it's only for budget box so i'm not redoing it, hopefully the other side will turn out better now i have a better idea of how to do it. olethalb
today i was supposed to be getting a new MIG welder so i could finish my exhaust and crack on with the other bits, mine's ok but doesn't weld consistently. anyway got my mate with his van and went to get the new one, even after i told the bloke i'd be there saturday to pick it up he sold it yesterday! so i came home and proceeded to finish my exhaust with my little mig, cut down an oval motorbike can and added some bends and a little tip to finish it off.while i was doing that my harnesses from ebay arrived so i fitted them in and gave it to my mate to give it a run round the block, he came back and said it was all good so i got a couple of pics while it was off the drive.whilst rummaging in the shed recently i found an old solonoid off a ford granada automatic gearbox so i decided to put it to good use, i tested it was working then tacked it in place.i wired it into the rear wiper loom and it worked well so i yook the handle outthen i made a plate upwelded it inand then ground the welds downOlly
