Yea, but your a girl. Sometimes it really sucks to have balls...

Just go onto gocompare or whatever and get yourself a quote. It will probably be quite steep as I am paying around £1500 at 17 on a Sport and that was a very cheap quote as far as im concerned.

but i know i have to wait till 18 to get GTI just wanted to see if its do able!!

You may have enough to buy a GTi but can you afford to run one? I think people need to keep this in mine as it will be a massive difference from a 1.7!

I think he means day to day running. before I moved closer to work I could empty a tank in 3 days just commuting. I think the tax is £180 per year, other than that and fuel usage, it wont be too different price wise from any other lupo.

I had a sport at 18 and payed a bit north of 1K to insure it.

Tbh down a twisty road there isn't that much difference between a sport and a gti, and for the difference in insurance when your young I'd go with the sport.

Nearly everything is dearer, servicing, inurance, tax, tyres, exhausts, brakes, fuel, xenons...

...and if you damage an alloy panel or non standard body part...

I you are buying an older one, or any for that fact, it's likely to be due a cambelt service - £400 from my VW specialist, £700 from VW and then the Xenons will be nearer to replacememt. Standard rear section of the exhaust is £270+ VAT from VW...

Lovely little cars, but at 18 I would look for a nice Sport.

I think people over look these costs. Even more so it will effect a younger person!
