cardaft
I like the Leon Cupras, although early ones look a little ordinary, but then you could improve that. Very nice cars in my opinion. A4s are nice, quite large and not all that sporting though. I was impressed with the TDi version i drove recently, can you not get any cheap 3.0 Quattros of the 2002 style A4?Id avoid older stuff, corrados etc, no doubt they will need money spending to keep them right. Ibiza Cupra? yes id say thats nice. Polo GTi is ok, but im sure a cupra would be better with the 1.8T
sam bignell
I really rate the 1.8T cupra, I had one as a company car and it was smooth yet still a beast at higher revs. Also so many modifications you can do. . . . . simple remap will show some big gains!Sam
Tigz™
I'll sell you my GTI for £3000?
Gibbeth!
That kind of money would get you a nice Golf mk4 V6 4 Motion.I was going to say 4mo, but they look pretty ordinary. Comfy though, a V6 noise!
Gez MC
Drove one as a trade car a few weeks ago - the noise and the grip are great.Speed - well, not so great but not slow. 204bhp IIRC.
Tigz™
Speed - well, not so great but not slow. 204bhp IIRC.Very tunable though.I keep getting tempted with one also.Just wish it wasn't in a Golf
Gez MC
Not trying to come across as a dick and be controversial, but from what I hear V6s aint cheap to tune (not the 4Mo anyway before any halfwit's like Liam attempt to nitpick)http://www.scottishvag.net/phpBB3/viewtopi...=13&t=41540
Tigz™
what I hear V6s aint cheap to tune.It won't be, no car missing a Turbo is.But your only talking £1500 to get it running like it would if it had a Honda badge on the front. Gez MC
Fair enough, I was only going on what I have been told.My days of engine tuning bar a simple remap and decat are done now anyway.
Tigz™
I'm twenty nine year old.It ten more years I (so long as I don't get sacked!) should know enough to consider some serious engine tuning.I'm looking forward to getting older
Gez MC
In that case...maybe I have time yet (got about 15 years by your account)
Tigz™
Tuning that Beemer in 3 years time would be my choice ITB's, 9'000rpm 2.0 3 series would rock.Mini M3!Oh yeah, back on topic...I'll sell you my GTI for £3000?

NBR
Mini M3!Off topic for a second. I think its worth it....http://germancarscene.com/wp-content/uploa...s3-23-08-06.JPGMini M3 Powered...Back on topic:Leon Cupra would be my choice- BUT it would need to be a "face lift" version 2003 onwards. Pre facelift are not worth it i feel. Not really going to get one of them for about £3500 unless its done some leg.Second choice would be the Octavia VRS, massive boot & great cruiser realistic MPG for both would be about 28 MPG. This you will get for about £3500- but even less of these around than the cupra.2pence
RobG
get something with moar cylinders Before i got the 'ssat, i was seriously looking at audi s4 avants. One of the guys at work had one and it was really nice. You'd not tell it'd done 130k miles.

CheColes
something with a 1.8T in would be pretty good, they're good engines for tuning.why not get a breadvan polo? get them for peanuts nowadays, cheap insurance, good runabout, and have some potential...but like everyones been saying, the ibiza cupras are brilliant cars, i think if it was my money, i'd get one of those
