nfbr
If I sold it, I wouldn't get half of what it's worth to me back!Decided to keep it and do a few other 'Preventative maintenance' jobs such as the bushes etc.I'm also looking to try and get hold of some new wheels to give the car a new look. Ideally something OEM and flat faced. I'd love some wheels which are much easier to clean than the CH's too, as the amount of brake dust that the 6 pots kick out is absolutely unreal! So far, I like:VW Phaeton 'Challenge' 8½J x 18", ET45, 5x112 (3D0 601 025C)VW Phaeton 'Innovation' 8½J x 18", ET45, 5x112 (3D0 601 025Q)Audi A8 'Flat Five' 8½J x 18", ET45, 5x112 (4E0 601 025M) Edited April 13, 2010 by nfbr

They'd probably only last me 3 weeks before my arm fell off from polishing them once a night lol...Yes, and how did you do that?????Hybrid turbo... Philplop
No idea, I'll ask. They're currently attached to his car though, so we'll need to get tyres sorted for the Bentleys first. And they're expensive.

And they're expensive. As an Idea, some dude on Scottishvag offloaded a set in need of a refurb for £200.Condition dependent of course, I'd be willing to pay around £450?Not in a massive rush for a set or anything as I've got Insurance to pay this month.Looks stunning as ever Al!I like the Phaeton "Innovation" wheels, think they would look good on the Bora Yeah, They'd look ace! Although i think they were only sold as an optional wheel for the Phaeton, so probably quite difficult to get hold of. The knob is taller then the original one, so I'm gona have a go at chopping an inch or so off the length of the inner gear stick.
nfbr
Since today was my day off, I slept in until 9am, after which, I set to work cleaning up the engine bay. I also borrowed my dad's 'Counterfeit' Dremel and set to work shortening the gear change shaft by 1/2 an inch. I then Fitted my new gearknob...Looks smart with the Mk5 Steering wheel... nfbr
Did a Gearbox oil change today.Quite surprised really! - VW tell people that it's lifetime oil but the used Gear oil came out black and sooty despite having only been run for 50,000 miles! The new oil has made quite a lot of difference and it's much much smoother now Edited April 19, 2010 by nfbr
