v3rmin
Mine is truely ancient now. I can't afford a new one till I start working (again) which will be about 10 months TBH though, I don't really need anything better at the moment since it manages to run all the games I play (rFactor, Live For Speed and Half Life 2) just fine. I made it just before I came to Uni in 2003:Athlon XP 3000+Gigabyte GANNXP nForce 2 motherboard2x 512Mb 400FSB Corsair matched pair256Mb nVidia GeForce FX 5900Ultra7200rpm 120Gb SATA system drive7200rpm 250Gb SATA storage drive7200rpm 350Gb Firewire backup driveCreative Audigy 2 soundcardCoolermaster Case4x case fansA very decent setup for the time. and coolermaster case

Putney
serious setup that!..and nice plug btw I got the same set up in the lounge but with an Old 30inch Sony KLV30MR1 which is wall mounted and on Sky plus. HD is in the bedroom only at the moment.I had a computer which was custom built by my brother and was top of the range component wise two years ago. But I only played C&C and Dawn of war on it occasionally so gave it too my little sister as an xmas present! PC's are great but they take up too much space in my flat and I don't like having to use a mouse and keyboard on 1st person shooters. I miss C&C games though! ArosaMike
A very decent setup for the time. and coolermaster case Yeah....it wasn't quite the best I could get, but wasn't far off It's lasted me a lot longer than I ever thought it would. It helped that things like processor speeds just kind of froze and I think the (at the time) massive video RAM future proofed it somewhat. It's crap with DX9 though. It's supposed to be a DX9 card but nVidia kind of stuck compatibility on as an afterthought. It's so slow at rendering effects in anything but DX8.
