Just bought my new GTI the other day, must say it is sooo much fun to drive i love it. Plenty for me to do on this now!

There are a few of the usual problems with the starter motor and high level brake light but i will get this sorted.

Edit to say: Sorry about the skip in the picture but that's cleared a space for my new garage in the next month or so <IMG SRC="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif"> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Lol yea i know, after some of it's life in Scotland it was in Plymouth! Bit of a distance!

Judging by the service schedule it only did 1k in 2004 lol.

I had a sport before, the difference in the GTI is massive i find. Love the seats, love the heavier steering (hope it is supposed to be like that lol), and i absolutley love the engine Yarr! I also like most of the other things (HIDs are soo cool amongst others).

Can't wait to slam it and put my BBS on biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Moono 16v - Hopefully you can upgrade at some point in the future it is well worth it

Jeyesh - 2001 5 speed GTI, Sports seats (interwoven velour i think) plus all the usual GTI bits, infortunatley it doesn't have many or any extras but i didn't buy it for that i wanted the performance and the look of the GTI so i am more than happy.

Mod update

Just re-vinyled my red 'I' on front and rear badges lol as the others had faded shades.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> (no pics though)

Thanks guys! biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I am trying to sort out the induction at the mo. The last owner took the airbox and intake pipe off to put some crappy K&N bolt on in it's place, so i don't have the airbox or intake pipe.

Anyone got any good ideas for induction using a Pipercross kit? I need a intake pipe for the induction kit and maybe another cold air feed. The stuff in Halfrauds is some sort of tin foil, is there any other products available?

Thanks for your comment biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I didn't get oil with it but it says a 'dirt retention additive' should only be used lightly as it can affect performance anyway (i think it only probably stops the really baked on dirt). I guess i will some up at a later date maybe.

Thanks again for the comments smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

All parts i bought from Demon Tweeks in Wrexham (after sitting in a pile of parts for two hours laugh.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":lol:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> ) but you can order from their website clicky

Parts list (all pipe diameters were measured up on a GTI prior to purchase so make sure you measure yours first as they may differ)

Induction pipe;

1x Samco 90 Degree Silicone Elbow 70mm bore dia.

1x Samco straight Coupling Hose 70mm bore dia.

4x Heavy duty 70mm clips (can't see them on the website so may have to phone i was recommended them for induction)

1x Green 300mm Universal Alloy Tube 70mm outer bore diameter (cut down to approx 200mm to fit in the bay)

1x Pipercross KK700 - 150x150mm with 68mm neck (this is not standard kit for the lupo so order carefully)

Breather pipe;

1x Samco straight flex pipe (not super flex as is more expensive) 6mm (approx i cant remember fully) bore diameter for breather pipe 1 meter in length

2x heavy duty clips to suit breather outer diameter

1x Self sealing aluminium hose take off with 3/8 BSP internal thread (this goes into the straight coupling hose between the pipercross and the alu pipe)

1x one part i am unsure about i think it is a hose joiner which can fit into the hose take off and the outer part should have a outer diameter to connect to the breather pipe to (you can see in the pic), if you ask them they will know what it is.

Cold air feed;

This was a plastic pipe i had on the car already (not a standard part) i ran this up from the front of the bottom grill up between the power point and the wing (no battery in the GTI bay).

Notes;

This is in no way a cheap way of doing it! Basically your easily talking over double the price of a standard induction kit for the Lupo.

Also the kit will try and sit high up because of the 90 degree elbow but i cut the hose at an angle where it meets the air inlet to angle the kit but it still rubs the bonnet liner slightly (still a work in progress).

This is a pain to do but if you fancy a challenge i would go for it, but i can't stress enoguh that you measure your inlet and pipework first and make a breif design up so you don't miss anything.

The plus to all of this is something that looks totally custom and sounds brilliant! wub.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wub:" border="0" alt="wub.gif" /> (A deep dry roar with a slight gargle is the best way to describe the sound really)

Hope this helps smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

What did you use to do this? Mine badge is a bit pink! :lol:

I used the red tape from halfrauds just stick in and carefully score in the inner lip and hey presto looks like new, the originals are only vinyl anyway just peels off.
