Hi folks, im fairly new to the site and just bought my GTI a month ago.Ive not had a chance to give it a good clean yet but thought id post some pic. Last pic shows my rolling road graph from last thursday with 128.8 bhp. Not bad for just having a BMC air box. Comments welcome.

Looks like a nice example, one from in the club as it has CL stickers on it, although i don't recognise it off the top of my head. I presume it has an aftermarket back box at least jusdging by the tailpipe?

Oh right, i see. As for the back box, i'm not entirely sure that you can get it on it's own. I think it only comes as a full system from vw, so second hand is the only way i can think of you getting one. What spec is it? Oh and it looks really clean to me, you should see mine laugh.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

My brother works for VW and priced a back box alone and it was over £200 so it would have to be second hand but im thinking of another after market one but similar to the standard one.Im going to see my local powerflow specialist this week to see about changing just the tail pipe to a twin. As for being clean, its got a long way to go, I like my cars to be immaculate but its clean enough for now.Its not got any extras apart from side airbags which I dont think are standard spec.

Lovely car mate! Good power too!

yes its a powerflow backbox, the car came with it, im trying to get a standard one for it. put the stickers on when i got it.

I'm not sure but i think Jen/Joe have a good condition standard OE cat back system for sale! Drop them a PM and see what they say smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Heres a backbox for you: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Volkswagen-Lupo-Gti-...1QQcmdZViewItem

Your powerflow exhaust, is it loud when under normal driving or loud almost all the time? Reason is im looking at getting one in the not too distant future..... smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Cheers mate. Its just a back box but sounds great. Its not that loud sitting at idle it isnt even really that loud normal driving just when you put your foot down. Its perfect for me because I dont like it to be loud all the time.

That engine bay is immaculate mate, it looks amazing. What did you use to clean it? What make silicon hose is that? Samco?

No im not sure what make it is.It came with the BMC, its definitly not samco. I just used plastic detailer for the plastics and rubber, canuba wax fo the painted areas, brake cleaner on the leads and I gave the manifold heat shield and rocker cover a good clean up with autosol chrome cleaner and some steel wool.

It looks good mate, where did you order the bmc from? And it came with the silicone hose in the kit? Have you just got a oil breather filter on the end of the crank case pipe?

Cheers

I ordered the BMC through a place called Motac. Cost me an extra £15 for the hose.Well worth it though, saves the hassle of finding your own one that fits. Plus the red one really suits the lupo engine.Im going to get a red strut brace next I think.

Oh and yes ive got a red pipercross breather filter,I didnt have it fitted in the photo though.
