Dont think I have posted within this thread yet but I am in admiration for all the work you have done.

I cannot believe you have done it to such a new car but full credit to you for being different and confident enough to start this...and I am sure complete it with great success.

I can't wait to see, hear and maybe experience the finished result. Best of luck.

Hey man

What you reckon your going to end up weighing?

Earlier you mentioned that it weighed 485kgs, with the engine and the cage!?!?

The Dutch dudes who have just finished fitting a bike engine into a polo mk4 (shares LOADs of similarities with the lupo)

Have just weighed theres, bike engine, no roll cage, utterly bare apart from the shell of a dash board

And it has come to 670kg

?!?!?

I know for a fact that whats left of the shell weighs less than 300kg, i can actually lift the shell on my own so it must be alot lighter than that. The finished weight will hopefully be less than i initially worked out. I'm hoping for less than 400kg and i will keep cutting and making carbon parts until i get to that weight.

All of the rear has to come out as its no longer needed, the rear suspesion will be mounted to the new spaceframe chassis once i get it made. The rear end is using either unequal length wishbones or a trailing arm system, i still have to decide on that yet. Its all down to how long i can make the wishbones. The last thing i want is to have no camber change in bump and droop.

Hey, looking very good!!!!

I posted your car on the Dutch Lupoclub wink.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> tongue.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Wow, just read this thread, makes a forkin good read !

you are a very mental chappie indeed !

Can't wait for an update, and to see how your gettin on !

Just took a lupo as a swap for a car and reading this thread has given me pornographic ideas for it ! Which makes you a bad man as i have no money and your filling my head with dribble (uber cool dribble tho !! shades.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> ) ! laugh.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Holy poop! I've only just read this properly, how much does the car weigh now? It was nearly blowing away in the wind at E38, with all the back now missing you'd better stay away from the beans...

One fart & you'll blow the car into next doors garden! laugh.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Thanks for the offer Jen, I know where to take it once its finished, how about every second sunday of the month? (you did offer!)

Max69vk- Its alot lighter than at E38! i can lift the whole shell on my own now. smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Thats even with the glass still bonded in,which will be coming out and having plastic fitted, thats another 40kg lighter!

one litre wonder - I have already had the jet wash in there! all clean now. Once its finished the rear quarter windows and the boot will be removable so that i can get the jet wash in to the back and clean the engine area, this also allows me to climb in to the back and service the engine. rolleyes.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Tom_g - Get it done!!!! biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
