MattyT2712
A couple of days ago I was driving home from work and had my check engine light start flashing amber, car sounded pretty ropey (similar to a misfire) and I could feel the loss of power, left it a couple hours once home and even though the light stayed (stayed idle while the car were idle but would flash when driving) the car drove like its alway drove. Got in it today to see if it’s any different and I’ve got no check engine light on anymore? Had it in my head it was a misfire or a bad rotary arm/distributor cap but I know those aren’t “fixing” themselves like the issue seems to have done so. Anybody have anything similar happen to them before or any ideas on what it could be? Thanks 👍🏽 Edited March 16 by MattyT2712

julietdiane
Two years ago had a similar problem with my 1.4Tdi. The EGR valve was all sooted up. Had to replace the EGR. Been fine ever since.

julietdiane
My mistake, I meant the Exhaust system warning light. It is the petrol version that has the Engine management light.
