imaparana
Hi all, Looking into getting the KAM racing decat manifold. Seen a few post where people have said they think decat'ing' will result in limp mode on a gti? has anyone had experience with decating their gti and wether they go into limp mode? cheers
CLAYTONJONES
Mines been decatted for a year now, runs perfect👍🏼
mk2
If the O2 (or lambda) sensor is upstream of a cat and there's no downstream one, you can mod any car without a problem. Until mot time. The emissions test will pick up on excess hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide. But some engine ecus are so good that you'll pass without a cat. But not many..... a few mercs, the odd porsche or bentley. Definitely no ferraris or fiats. They're awful without cats!
Rich
mine barely passes with a cat... (last year it was a fiat)
CLAYTONJONES
Mine actually passed emissions with a Decat😅
Rich
mine should be better this year as it has sat with the sump off for a bit, been cleaned out and been serviced. it's empty now so I'm wondering if using the premium (all the time) has in some way had a negative effect on it, I might do this one on regular and see what happens.
