Hi all, Well i had my Lupo up for sale briefly, but i decided against it. My other project will just have to slow down a little to accompany running both at the same time. I've already sold one Lupo GTI and i don't want to sell another - certainly not in my favourite specification. So a little about the car, i aquired it not too long ago - on a bit of whim. Having owned a Lupo GTI a few years previous, i noticed one of my neighbours had this car sitting down the side of his house. At this time i wasn't too familiar with Anthracite cars, and initially thought he had it painted. On researching it i realised this was a rare colour, and when i found out it had only covered 68k miles i was very interested. It turned out the owner was a friend of a friend, so i probed the question and a few months later here i am the owner. The car has a few choice modifications; KWV1 coilovers (VERY impressed with these as on my last GTI i had cheapies fitted and it was horrible) KAM Racing decat manifold + KAM midpipe and backbox. Now this is super loud, its a bit too much for me in all honesty so i will either put this back to stock or have a company weld in a 200cell CAT and perhaps a middle silencer, time will tell Alpine double din W502R head unit The car initially looked like this; Now i loved the look, but i knew these weren't the wheels for me and the owner wanted to keep them which was fine by me. So i purchased the car on the stock Bathurst alloys, wheels i never had on my old Lupo. Now i've seen them on the anthracite car i actually really like them - i love silver wheels and they really pop against the anthracite. I will get them refurbed at some stage, but for now they will do wrapped in Toyo Proxies (not my tyre choice but again, it will do). So here is how i picked the car up; I was super happy with it, it brought back a lot of memories and being a little older i have more of a path for the car. I want to keep it clean, i want to improve it rather than go over the top. I do really like the OEM+ style, however i do want to improve the performance and driving experience. A few things on my list would be things such as Wilwood's, subframe refurbishment, new OEM bushings where possible, braided hoses etc. You see the idea. I have recently become a lot more interested in detailing, it's really struck a chord with me and perhaps a little bit of OCD. Between this car and my other halfs Cooper S (below), i plan to share my experiences and product experiences. And the other project i was talking about is my 1965 Morris Mini Minor, a car i've had for a long time now and is more recently being rebuilt. It's been painted and reassembly has begun. The engine has just been rebored to 1330 and is being rebuilt as we speak (when i get time!). Cheers

Yooo so time has come that I’m looking at cambering the rear on my gti. Im planning on doing this with washers but not sure on how many gives how much camber etc, I’m only planning on adding a little bit of camber for clearance issues, has anybody got a how to guide or would be willing to lend some advice. p.s I know a lot of people on here frown upon camber, but I need them scene points.

This will cause some debate I'm sure! I'm in the market for a stainless cat-back exhaust, however the only readily available one seems to be Scorpion which has the oval center pipe. However, I think the car looks much nicer with twin center pipes so this one really isn't on the cards. I've emailed Janspeed and they said they still sell one for the Lupo GTi, but seems like it'll have to be manufactured as a one off because they gave a 4 week lead time, they quoted £425 inc VAT and postage (plus fitting of about £40 at a garage). On the other hand, there is a custom exhaust place near where I am that would do the cat-back system for £400 all in, and this is much more customizable. Just looking for opinions really, see if anyone has a custom system or a Janspeed system and what they think of each! Any opinions are appreciated!

Hi All, Updated with lower price £2500 It's with deep regret that I am listing my beloved Flash Red Lupo GTi for sale. I've owned this car since July 2010 after dreaming of owning one since I ever first saw one. When I purchased it, it had only covered 52,000 miles & was in fantastic condition. In my ownership it's wanted for nothing, my father works in an MOT station in Poland and would have it on their ramps every other weekend ensuring it was in tip-top condition. I was also very fortunate to have a VW specialist garage just a few doors down from my home in Poland. The car has been converted to UK specification & registered in the UK (but remains LHD) - this involved buying new Xenons to alter the dipped beam, & also changing the odometer over. The car 'gained' 4000 miles when undertaking this conversion but VOSA/DVLA would not take it into consideration at point of UK registration. As a result, the car is sitting on 117,300 miles and is unlikely to increase. The car is currently MOT'd until July 30th 2016 but I will put 12 months MOT on it at point of sale. I have service history from prior to my ownership, however it's in French. In my ownership the history it's as follows; July 2010 - 76,000km - Gearbox Oil, Brake Fluid, Engine oil, pollen, cabin, oil, fuel filters Aug 2011 - 90,000km - Radiator,Starter Motor, coolant, Engine oil, pollen, cabin, oil, fuel filters May 2012 - 97,500km - Thermostat, Clutch, CV Joint June 2012 - 98,000km - Lovato LPG conversion Sep 2012 - 105,000km - Engine oil, pollen, cabin, oil, fuel filters Jan 2013 - 110,000km - LPG service May 2013 - 117,325km - Cam / Auxbelt,Engine oil, pollen, cabin, oil, fuel filters & coolant May 2013 - 118,000km - LPG service Mar 2014 - 138,000km - LPG service, spark plugs, HT leads April 2014 - 141,000km - Engine oil, pollen, cabin, oil, fuel filters Dec 2014 - 166,000km - (104,000m) - LPG service, spark plugs, Engine oil, pollen, cabin, oil, fuel filters Dec 2015 - 182,000km - (110,000m) - Engine oil, pollen, cabin, oil, fuel filters The LPG tank is 45l, which costs approximately £24 to fill from empty. This can do over 300 miles & will automatically switch to petrol should it run out. The car is registered under an X registration & is under a dual fuel road tax band. The interior is in great condition for it's age, but the grab handle on the passenger side is showing signs of wear. Externally, the paintwork is, again, in great condition, even more so when you consider this is a 15 year old car, the paintwork is flawless with very few bumps/scuffs. The car comes with 6mm tread all round on Contisport Contact 2 tyres which are by far the best tyre I've used - offering excellent grip in both the dry and the wet. I will also be prepared to throw in the spare set of alloys which have a year old, 6mm depth Nokian winter tyres on, should the asking price be met. The car also has the original clocks available in kmph form. Naturally, the car does have a couple of bad points but they are relatively minor. The lacquer is peeling on the rear spoiler, I did try to capture it in the photo but it's not that easy to photograph. There's a paint chip on the left hand wing mirror (pictured) and a notable chip missing from the upper side skirt/sill inside the door. The car has also recently had new rear shock absorbers fitted (2016) although I can't find the receipt to ascertain when it was. The car has been lowered on Eibach proline springs which offer a nice subtle drop & reduced body roll without impacting comfort. The car also has a front OMP strut brace. The steering wheel has been retrimmed in leather with red TDC indicator & red stitching. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me on 07783365148 (Anna) More pictures - http://imgur.com/a/6Drt1 If you need any photo's of anything specific, please let me know. Open to genuine offers but not interested in a part exchange as we have 4 cars between 2 of us already (hence the sale)

So I'm planning on getting a lupo gti shortly and have a few things planned for it the first thing i want to carry out is a change up of the interior. I've been looking at polo 9n3 gti seats or mk6 golf gti seats and having the rear lupo seats retrimmed to match the front, has anyone on here swapped their seats for these if so is it a case of modifying the new seat frames or is there another way? Also I'm looking at changing the steering wheel to a mk6 golf gti steering wheel does anyone know if the splines are the same or will I have to look into getting some sort of adapter? Many thanks Joe

Lupo GTi, 1.6 16v, 5 speed manual, Black. 111k miles. 4 owners from new. 2 keys, lots of service history. MOT until December 2016. (No advisories). No tax under new laws. Lots of work done since I have owned it, Clutch in August @ 99k (at VW specialist), Drop links done for MOT @ 104k, 4 new nankangs tyres @ 103k, Front swing arms, ball joints and bushes @95k, Full service including plugs, leads, air filter, fuel filter, oil and filter change @ 102k Lots of small bits including new window switches, door lock mechanism, check straps, new replacement GTI badges and more. (I have most of the receipts for the work I have had carried out). Cam Belt in 2013 @ 85k miles. This is a very nippy little car being a 1.6 and has been very reliable in the year I have owned it. It's not been lowered or modified as far as i can tell it's completely standard.Only small faults are with the body work - odd mark here and there - tiny amount of aluminium bubbling on the drivers gutter on the roof (barely noticeable hasn't got any worse in the time I've owned the car) -small mark on rear bumper - also there is a small stain on the rear carpet but is hidden by the mat, it's never bothered me so I have left itI am being very picky by saying these faults as I wouldn't want someone to be disappointed it's obviously not a new car but these small small issues can obviously be sorted or just as easily left alone! Don't let these few things put you off an (almost) mint car for the age!Viewing welcome.Price is £2800. Ovno. It probably sounds cliché but I will be sad to see this car go! I have just completed a 1000mile round trip over the past few days and it didn't miss a beat and returned roughly 39mpg.Questions welcome if I have forgotten anything.

I have this also adverstised on ebay and Pistonheads - price is negotiable and it's probably advertised for too much (currently £3750. Make me an offer!). Pics are here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Lupo-GTI-125bhp-6Spd-2002-UNMODIFIED-/282016208966? http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/volkswagen/lupo/vw-lupo-gti-125bhp-6spd-2002-unmodified/5601508?v=b My beloved 2002 Lupo GTI -Completely standard and unmodified. I've owned this car for three years and loved every minute, but I really need something bigger so the time has come to move on. MOT is due to expire in June but I'm happy to renew it before sale to give you peace of mind. 115k miles, very complete service history. I've owned the car since 85k and have only had servicing done at the VW main dealer since then, other than one that I did myself (I'm a chartered engineer) as I couldn't get booked in to my usual garage at the right time. The paintwork is in decent condition for a 14 year old car with 115k miles. A few little bubbles in the usual places and quite a few stone chips on the bonnet. Not perfect but it's made to be driven - and what fun it is! I'd love to be able to say that it's been driven carefully by an old lady...but if you're reading this then you know that really wouldn't be true. If there is another Lupo for sale that claims to have been driven by a nun, take that with a pinch of salt! Every journey is great fun - it never misses a beat and feels as good as when it was new. I know this because I had one new a long time ago - missed it so much that I wanted it back ten years later and bought this one. Sound great, feels great, gets through front tyres pretty enthusiastically (as do they all), and I wouldn't have it any other way. Talking of tyres - Toyo Proxes all round, all with loads of depth left - they are all less than a year old. Cam belt and water pump were done at about 90k - the previous owner said it had been done at about 80k but I figured better safe than sorry. Both keys present. When I bought it there was only one key, and I got that one wet (long story) and had to replace it. Bought the second at the same time as I didn't want to be locked out again! That wasn't a cheap experience, and the second key has never been used. The interior is is good condition, no tears or other blemishes at all on the seats. The standard CD player and cassette player are fully working, as is the factory tilt/slide sunroof. I've added an aux input to the cd player so you can connect an mp3 player, but that is the only change to standard. You can't see it when not in use but it works well. Great condition Lupo GTI that I will miss very much - good home wanted! Open to test drives but must have proof of insurance cover of course! Make me an offer - give me a call on 07743 552 772 to discuss. Can deliver on a transporter if necessary.

Hi there has anyone experience this: when changing gears, for around a second, the revs remain high or where they were when upon change. So at 3000rpm I´ll change into say 3rd gear and in the time that it takes me to make the change, the trottle remains at this rpm despite the clutch being engaged. Any ideas? Thanks
