  1. Thought it was far deeper and better made than most cr&p put out recently, and compared to that ***** Magnolia film that people raved about for the inter-related plots etc was bl00dy excellent!
  2. True, nice to see someone doing a bit of defensive driving. Went on a company paid course a while ago as we were all doing silly mileages at work (40k pa) and they really drummed in that you should always be looking for the idiot that's going to pull out, the motorbike that 5 secs ago was hundreds of yards away but will be right in your blind spot the instant you try to pull out, the idiot that's going to overtake a queue of traffic just as you come the other way etc. As far as they are concerned all parties must bear some blame if someone does something stupid and a collision happens (no such thing as an accident they say), even the 'innocent' fault for not anticipating it. One example was a car stopped waiting to turn into a junction, car came up behind (no waiting area for the car so was in the normal lane) and ****ted it, and because the stopped car had his wheel turned ready to make the move the impact pushed him into the the path of an oncoming car. In the modern way of thinking the oncoming car was partly to blame - should have anticipated the bloke pulling across (intentionally or not) and slowed, the car that hit him up the ass was obviously to blame - should have seen the warning signs for the junction and slowed, and the turning car was also to blame - should have either kept his wheels straight and eyes on the mirrror ready to get out of someone's way or maybe even gone another route entirely if the junction was very bad. The problem with this type of driving is it can seem a lot slower, so not everybody adopts it, and as you buy a bike to drive fast and nip through gaps etc it is rarely used by motobikes.
  3. Civic Type-R makes nearly 100 per litre and is NA. Even my old E-reg Celica made 75bhp and that's frigging ancient now!
  4. My parents neighbours have a new build and have to fold the wing mirrors in on their Corsa C to fit through the door and then have to do gymnastics to get out the car. Stupid new house!
  5. Exactly my feeling, I'd pay more for someone that accepts paypal for free than if by cheque (to save the hassle of writing the cheque, finding an envelope, cost of stamp etc). If they want me to pay for their paypal fees I don't even bid. You get more sales, at higher rates for accepting paypal credit cards etc so you take the hit. Yes ebay and paypal are fleecing you but you're selling for a lot more than you'd get down a car boot or something so who cares! Had an e-cheque to my paypal account the other day, took nearly 2 weeks to clear!
  6. When I went with a few mates we got 6:30am easyjet flight out of Luton on Saturday morning, and flew back last flight on the Monday so got a long weekend, and flights were about £25 each including taxes. You'll find the Friday and Sunday flights are a bit pricey! We stayed in the Vondelpark youth hostel, private room with two bunk beds and own shower toilet etc and paid close to feck all for it. Go on the Henieken tour for a laugh, the Banana bar and Moulin Rouge. Like they said above don't get too plastered as the fecking Nigerians are everywhere trying to sell you crack or mug you.
  7. I like the seemless gap between the bonnet and the grille: border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="IPB Image" />
  8. No I didn't mean that, just meant they're taking the p1ss somewhat!
  9. B0llocks! Took my 190E to the Merc dealership the father in law worked at and full alignment took maximum of 45mins, and that included changing the wheels from the Borbets to the Merc rims that have the alignment holes in (5 small 5mm(ish) holes around the hub) so assuming you've got the official Merc alloys you're talking 15-30mins work to check and set up!
  10. There's the one just off the M25 you can see just before the Junction for M1 (assuming you're going clockwise). It at the head Offices of RES: Renewable Energy Systems Ltd Beaufort Court Egg Farm Lane Kings Langley Hertfordshire WD4 8LR United Kingdom Tel : +44 (0) 1923 299 200 Fax : +44 (0) 1923 299 299 There's one in Swaffham that you can even go up so well worth a visit, but a bit further outside London clicky
  11. Yeah and maybe make the wheels taller than the car so if you flip it you can still drive, like some of them remote control cars!
  12. True but then people wouldn't be paying out hundreds for plastic/carbon fibre/GRP panels everytime you dropped it. Self coloured plastics would be a good idea surely, then all the scrapes could be sanded off and left looking presentable? Maybe I just don't get bikes. They're cr&p for trips to B&Q and Ikea I know that. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  13. With all these vids of people dropping bikes, makes you think they should start making them a bit sturdier, less carbon fibre stuff that brakes when you look at it wrong!
  14. She's defo 18+ plus. But someone should tell her that having the head board blocking off the radiator like that will seriously limit the efficiency of the heating, and with that few clothes on she's going to get the sniffles!
  15. Mmm, actually in white that looks nice. Just aggresive enough without being too Fast & Furious.
  16. Ah but they do say if a girl will put a cigarette in her mouth she ain't too choosey about what else goes in there..... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> Went to Ireland for the weekend, dancing like an ejit in some club, suddenly hit me how clear it was, you could see everyone, eyes didn't sting and didn't go home smelling like a betting shop. The only downside is if you're a real bush pig you're never going to score in a smokey nightclub once they ban smoking, so best visit Anne Summers or get a face transplant. I approve the ban. And the way I understand it, anyone smoking gets a fine and the landlord/owner so no matter how much you might want to light up in a club or pub if the big bouncers are gonna stomp you then throw you out, it might make you change your mind!
  17. If you go to the vw site linked, you get to configure the GTI and then 'drive it'. Make sure you add leather though and the paddle shift and get to race a Civic wideboy! here
  18. For that many people to lose it there's gotta be something wrong with the road surface in there! Big respect to the bus driver for pretty much catching it!
  19. If you're trying to fit old mini wheels on a Loop, then they will fit if you get wobble bolts, possibily need spacers. Not sure whether even in 13" they'll clear the brakes though.
  20. You can cancel bis on at item, search around ebay someplace and you'll find out how. I've done it a couple of times as I always put "people with zero feedback contact before bidding line" and they ignore it. Sounds harsh but out of 40 or so zero feedback buyers over the years only about half have come through so not worth the hassle. You should also enable ebay to block anyone with an overall negative score and from countries you don't ship to.
  21. Tried Northampton? Defo cheaper and only 1 junction up the M1 from MK, only problem is getting off at J14 every morning with all the other traffic. Might also be worth trying Leighton Buzzard or Dunstable. We saw a fixer upper 3bed semi in Dunstable up for offers around 90k. Needed a fair bit of work but if you can fit a gearbox I'm sure you can fit a kitchen!
  22. Yeah you do get a lot of foriegn gangs now but generally because you can't get Brits in. Particularly for me as Landfill sites ain't the nicest places to be building stuff! I you've got a trade you'll never be short of work or mates. Based on what you say I think plastering is the best bet, and if you get good you can come do my ceilings!
  23. Have you thought about shared ownership? It is a way to get on the market and whilst you pay rent on some you are at least paying off some of the house which hopefully will go up over time? As for a second job, pizza delivery ain't bad, Dominos or Pizza Hut just down the road and pay not bad and you get a lot of tips you can forget to declare? The problem is MK is very popular with investors, so first time buyers are competeing with people building their property empire for rentals. But I would agree with what someone else said about offers, we just put a 270 offer on a 300k house, thinking we'd be told to feck off and the owner accepted it as we were in a good position! So when you do find somewhere, go in low, having already agreed a mortgage in principle, and really sell your position and that you're first time buyers etc. Plus some people don't like selling to investors as the mess you about something rotten.
  24. Well exactly, it may be a minter but it's a mint example of a mass produced and not yet very old car (and not even the 16V). I expect the poor seller is gonna find the highest bidder vanishes. Bloke I used to work with spent less on his Toyota Celica Carlos Sainz GT4. One of only 250odd, individually numbered official imports and the lowest mileage example left. It's so good Toyota UK have used it a couple of times for publicity photos (and paid him a good few quid too, returning it so clean it literally looked brand new).
