    1.7 Tuning

remapping wont really do anything as it's a NA engine
  2. there is a lad i know that runs these on a black sport. his user name on here is robbo_87 or something. if you could find it, it would give you an idea of how they look on the car
  3. Really sorry to hear about this mate. Seems it is a small world, at my work a email has been sent to all staff about this song. His aunty works at my company (surname is Perry)
  4. p.s. i think people need to chill out in this thread. kid just wants advice on engine swap, not insurance and whether he can afford it. I agree that it may be best to sell up and get a faster car but wheres the fun in that
  5. behave! my sport was on 98k when i sold it and it was still running great!! with a 2k budget and a friend who maybe knows what he's doing, i'd say your options are a sport engine or a polo gti engine. if you manage to do that cheap you'll have cash left over for new exhause etc.
  6. what size and fitment of wheel are you looking for? there are a fair few bbs in a 15x7 which would be my personal choice. there is also the vw lupo starlite wheels which is nice and OEM, thats 14x7. looking on edition38 wheels for sale section. look at me being helpful!
  7. i know exactly what you mean about not being happy once spending loads of money on your car. when i had mine back from the body shop, i thought with the work carried out the paint would be near on perfect. It was far from it. from that point on i lost interest and couldnt be bothered with it. few months later it was sold and i cant be bothered with the modifying game anymore.
  8. no way! not after you spent so much time and money on it! glws man
  9. cool wheels, high et so very adaptable. would look good on a gti!
  10. you'll need more than standard coilovers to make 13's look good.
  11. my lupo had bubbling under the paint, under the wing mirrors. i took it to vw and someone cam out with a paint depth gauge thing. turns out that the whole car had been sprayed apart from the boot lol. i guess they will do a similar thing to yours. if it hasnt been painted i guess you will have a chance. i *think* VW paint is around 100 (microns??)
  12. im not sure i really understand it still. do people like tim tom interiors??? I sold my tim tom interior for like £100 when i took it out of my lupo cant imagine anyone paying that for it now
  13. gregg howell? no doubt a good job but bit steep!! do all the wiring yourself and i recon you could get it welded and sprayed at a decent local bodyshop for £300 max
  14. massive lie!!!!! this is what i was expecting but was disappointed everyone just went bed!
  15. this... and this (minus the exhaust obv!)... personally i dont like a smoothed front bumper, its just makes the front bumper into a big mass of plastic and makes the grill surround with headlights, grill and badge too busy. a smoothed bumper looks ok with loss of indicators, front badge and front badge recess filled. obviously this is only my rubbish opinion!
  16. i thought when you delock a handle it's so you can put a blank painted cap there. there isnt an alternative boot handle without a key hole? unless he is getting on fabricated?
  17. im confussed, do you want a button inside the car to operate a boot popper?
  18. good show, probs just come up on the day this time if i attend
