Im going to take it to the guys who fitted my engine and get them to do a check for me, MOT coming up in the next 2 weeks...

Guys its been a long time since i posted here, long story short the engine completely dried out of oil on me right after MOT, was putting upwards of a litre in it every 5 weeks and the oil light constantly flashed, checked but never any signs off leaks, driving to work at the start of the year, the warm air in the car turned cold, temp gauge went skyward and a BIG BRIGHT RED warning light came on the dash, pulled over straight away, engine steaming like crazy, Lupo gone to VW heaven !!! About 2 months later and getting the train to work i called into see my grandparents and what was sitting in the yard, the Lupo with another 1.4s engine fitted to it, the mechanic said it would take a while for the new"er" engine to bed in, tried starting it, took loads of revs, up it went, out to the road after it warmed up, revved very slowly, totally dead, came to a road end and it cut out !!! Not a great start, drove it home and it cleared a little but still sluggish and insisted on cutting out when i pushed the clutch fully in coming to road ends. This was the first problems i noticed - cutting out, rpm dropping under 500rpm and stalling when coming to a halt and very hard to start, even to this day it wont start without pumping the accelerator! The last engine limited out to 5500rpm and felt really lively, especially in the wet, right up to 3rd gear the wheels wouldnt grip, this one on the other hand is unable to go anywhere over 4200rpm in any gear, if in the wet the revs would go up to quick the car would almost bottom out as the revs violently dropped, really throws me forward in the seat its so harsh, max speed along the motorway is 80mph and this is at top RPM with nothing left in it, these were the next problems. Then the loss of revs and power started while driving along steady, sometimes the revs would just drop and come back up again others it would loose power, speed would drop, revs remained the same and then start going again as normal, very unpleasent when overtaking, 55-60-65 revs going up to 4000rpm then just drop for a few seconds then come back up to 4000rpm again, sounded like it was backfiring a bit aswell. Tuck back in again!!! Im not sure if anyone on here would have had all these problems at once but if at least if one or a few relate to you or you know a cause why it would be doing this id be very appreciative, sparks were changed, all new filters fitted etc etc so im fast running out of ideas. Niall mate u said about GTI parts, does this include an engine swap? If so give me a heads up for the sport conversion, I personally think my 1.4s non sport seems nippy enough but u say the 100bhp is considerably sharper, love the new plans, hope to c it up round the port over the summer.

Ah no worries mate, didnt realise the car wasnt over here anymore, ive this thread set up as one to watch, love what your doing with it so far, pm me how much that air ride set up would cost, either that or a sleeper GTI conversion might be on the cards.

Mate u only live out the road from me I think, the Rock yeah? Beautiful wee car, recognised it straight away with the matching Azevs, I've a wee jazz blue loop thats gonna get a severe rogering with the modifying stick next year lol maybe get a wee shoot done with the 2 cars?

Ryan tell me this mate have you ever tried cambridge lights on this car, i think with the GTI headlights and the car being an OEM masterpiece the red and white cambridge could be a nice addition, food for thought...

Are the wheels on the passat the same as the lupo ! ! ! 4 and 5 stud in different sizes, epic, are the mini wheels a direct fit onto Lupos ? ? ? Love both your cars...
