  1. Indeed I only get it in first gear too, if I come off the gas and then try to go again when I come up to a junction or something. Thanks for the info about over-fuelling Tigz, that is what I was implying when I said it wasn't getting enough air (to mix).
  2. Interesting. Thanks for that, I have a long standing theory that the location of the air intake causes the characteristic kangarooing early in the mornings.
  3. Tell me, do you still get the car kangarooing or jerking in the mornings with your air intake re-routed?
  4. Just to say I get the same with mine, it feels like the engine is not getting enough air. Can anybody tell me if they still get this with an aftermarket air intake fitted? Ryn
  5. I'm trying to find some of the correct size tyres as well and it's a real nightmare! Most people don't stock them unfortunately, even Dunlop don't have any in and aren't planning to make any more for a month or so. I can get two for about £100 each style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

    New GTI Exhaust

What's the news on the manifold Tim? Do you have some contact details for someone for me to speak to at Janspeed about getting hold of an exhaust? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  7. I bought an exhaust for my Civic Type-R and it needed a lot of work to get fitted. Similar thing to you. I bought one from the same company (Skunk2) for the S2000 and it went straight on. That's how it goes sometimes style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Looks nice now though mate.

    1.8t conversion

No style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> But I have been in an S2000 (I used to own one) and that drives very well. My point was why not get a car that is designed to take the power rather than one that isn't. The last thing you'd want is to spend £9k on doing up a car to crash it a week later because you weren't used to it being so front heavy or something.
  9. Yeah man get that 1.8T in it style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Looks fantastic well done on all the hard work!

    1.8t conversion

I was quoted £7k plus VAT with JBS for a 1.8T drive in drive out conversion. But you will then be able to sell your old engine to re-coup some of the initial outlay. Personally I would have to have a new exhaust system, induction kit and ECU remap to go with the new engine, you would want to do it properly. I reckon £9k all in would sort you out with a 220bhp motor, but then what's the point when you can sell the loop for say 7k and spend the £16k on an older M3, S2000, Clio V6 etc etc etc that has all that power plus a chassis that can take it.

    Viper Stripes

Yuk. Don't. Or we'll all point and laugh at you. As Twisty said, Viper stripes are called Viper stripes becaquse they go on Vipers. That Lupo looks like a BMW Mini from that angle.

    miltek exhaust gti

Yeah so am I Tim give them a kick up the ass and get it sorted style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  13. My GF's Polo does this - there is a plastic ring on the steering column behind the steering wheel that has come loose and is rubbing when the wheel turns. Annoying. I promised her I'd try to fix it back again but it's a cnut to get to.
  14. Glad it's not just mine style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Normally leave her to warm a little before I drive her and I still get it. It feels like the engine is being starved of air via the intake. Once you are away and the engine is sucking it settles down. Even if she isn't warmed up I always drive her carefully for a few minutes anyway, treat my baby with respect style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  15. Anyone else get this? First thing when started up, back out of my drive, put her in first, and she wants to kangaroo hop all the way down my road style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Switch to second and it settles down. Is this something to do with the silly location of the air intake?
  16. Personally i'd rather have VW's own 1.8 engine and turbo in a loop than an aftermarket turbo, especially at that price. At least if it goes wrong your local dealer will still be able to work on it for you.
  17. How's you overfill the tank? Secret switches or something? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  18. They do take a lot of work to get maximum enjoyment out of them. I got sick of changing gear all the time after a year of owning it. You can get embarrassed by Paxos and all sorts if you get caught out of gear. But once that VTEC kicks in woooooooo! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

    Gimme more power!!!

Yeah surely it would be easier just to get a 1.8T into it for some more BHP?
  20. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> I wish somebody would buy me!
  21. That's ahealthy increase in power as a percentage of what you had before, must be about a 20% gain surely? I think it's worth the money for sure. Good on you mate for getting it done.
  22. Behave. Making carbon fibre is a specialised job. You need a lot of practice. Even if you get one sheet a little wonky it will wreck the whole bonnet and look crap.
  23. Good call Snoop. If you are like me, you want fast downloads AND to sit in front of the computer 24 hours a day style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> 2MB rocks for online gaming as well if you are into that. Blackrat if you only use 5GB a month then why not change to a tariff where you only pay for 5GB a month but still get 2MB access...
  24. Nice work son, i've bookmarked them, for future reference! Well played. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="thumbup.gif" />
  25. Gas guzzling beemer style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Still I bet it was better than the TreVoR Kenny you must get about 15 to the gallon out of that surely? On a run style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
