    Eczema

Have you tried E45 cream - I get really bad eczema on my hands and I also get the watery blisters... when they break the skin underneath is really sore... I do use the hydrocortizone cream but find that using it too much can make it worse (??) so keep my skin hydrated with E45 cream... you can also get E45 things to go in the bath and bodywash too... buy it at local supermarket or chemist... seems cheaper in supermarkets tho. Things like dusting, washing up and very hot water makes it worse. Hope this helps (insert hug here lol)
  4. Welcome along dude... I've got a jazz blue sport too You don't have to wait til you've passed your test to mod it... there's loads of subtle things you can do that won't cost you loads of pennies Good luck with the test, when is it by the way?
  5. We watched it last night and couldn't believe how lucky the guy in the Seat Type R was... and then with the Ibiza, we were amazed at how they all managed to get out ok - especially when the pc pointed out that if the girl in the back passenger side had been sitting behind the driver then she'd have been seriously injured... Brrr... it makes me shiver to think how lucky they were....
  6. wow! super shiny - never thought silver paint could come up so nicely... great job!
  7. Cool, look forward to seeing piccies of the loop
  8. Awwwwwww no, and so blatantly too! Just proves people just can't have anything nice these days
  9. Yay! Congrats on the Lupo we need pics!
  10. I bought a W-reg (2000) Lupo 1.4 16v Sport a few weeks ago and we have been playing around with a few mods since I got her home... just small things like clear indicator bulbs at the front, clear side repeaters, stubby aerial, bonnet bra and we removed the side bump strips at the weekend. She's one of the best cars I have ever owned, I am dead chuffed that I got her However, on Sunday whilst reversing up our fairly steep drive, I noticed that had a really faint knocking sound coming from the engine (that got worse when I accelerated) over the phone it was diagnosed as a possible manifold gasket... so I booked it in for Wednesday morning at our local (and very trusted) independent garage. Whilst I was driving there the noise was getting louder and louder so I was a bit worried and when I got there the guy looks and says that it might be something in the engine.... well, that night the garage called to say that they actually thought it was the water pump that was failing so they'd had a look and one of the timing belts was really slack so they needed to investigate further and maybe do a cam belt change whilst they were in there.... fair enough I thought (Lily is 8 this year, so she'll have needed a change anyway later in the year and she's done 74,000 miles). My husband was muttering about belt tensioners before I'd even called the garage I got a call this morning to say the Lupo was ready so I went to get her... I walked into the garage and the guy tells me that I have had one hell of a lucky escape because two of the metal "spikes" on the bottom timing belt tensioner had sheered off and the belt was so slack and had moved around so much that it was within millimeters of coming off!!! - I know from having a timing belt snap on a car (whilst driving it down the M1!) that would have meant "bye bye engine" because of the terminal damage that would have occured if I'd just ignored it and the belt had come off - the garage guy says that the knocking/rattling noise was the valves and that I'd got it into the garage JUST in time by the sounds of it... On further examination - it appears that the pump is fairly new and so were the belts BUT the other bits (tensioners, etc) were still the original ones and it had only had a pump and belt change... SO, a word of warning for people that are having their belts changed... make sure you replace everything using a whole kit, don't just replace the belts! On the plus side... it only cost me £165! Pic of broken tensioner - there are supposed to be 2 "antlers" on the top, you can just about see the sheered off metal bits.....
  11. I had a (really nasty) ex-boyfriend punch me full in the face when I was 18, he near on dislocated my jaw and he broke my nose and left me concussed... btw, I got concussion after I slammed into the fridge freezer I was standing next to - I knocked it over with the force of being hit..... I am now 34 and still get really bad nosebleeds and my jaw still clicks sometimes. My husband play fights with our "puppy" - she's just turned 1 and is starting to get a little rough now... as for our 8 year old dog, she enjoys a game of "slapsies" but doesn't bite back lol Hope your jaw feels better
  12. I'm just a sexy housewife
  13. Well.......... garage just called.......... they now suspect that it's the water pump that's clattering and banging around in there - it sounded SO loud and rough this morning when I got it to the garage... the pump is being replaced and one of the belts is loose too so that's being replaced... told him to do both belts and the pump whilst he's in there cos then we know that the belt and pump have def been done as the previous owner wasn't too sure if the owner before her had it done or not and the car is 8 years old now so it's due a change soon I suppose
  14. Looking good - I de-stripped mine at the weekend - spent about 3 hours getting the crud off the sides - glad it was with my husband's help cos I'd still be sitting there lol

    Hi there

Welcome along to Club Lupo Paula... car looks good, but those mods will make it look even better
  16. My husband seems to think it might be the timing belt tensioner or something... She has plenty of oil - I've checked her oil and water bi-weekly and kept her topped up when she needed it - right now the oil is half way along the hashed marking on the dip stick... normally I'd top her up but she's gone off to the garage this morning and I've just got back from dropping her off... so I guess I'll just have to sit here feeling sick with worry all day for his phone call.....
  17. 3 guys, yes? You could go as 3 bunny girls.... or Hugh and 2 playboy bunnies... guaranteed to get a giggle
  18. All righty then... after speaking to my (very trusted) independent garage, he's 99% sure that it's the exhaust manifold gasket that's gone... he also mentioned a possibly cracked manifold but I'm hoping that it isn't cos I've checked with VW directly and according to the parts department there aren't any in the UK and I'll have to back order one to come in from Germany... at a cost of £149.46 plus VAT... let's just hope it's only the gasket! Still going to cost a pretty penny... been told it will be between £140 and £150 to fix
  19. This one was cold start up This one was after it was driven for a couple of miles, so you could say the engine was "warm" This one was after the engine had got properly "hot" Recorded on my daughter's phone... so the sound quality isn't great I'm afraid
  20. Sure can - took 2 recordings earlier - one from cold and one when I'd driven about a bit (very slowly lol) - when hot it sounds like freewheeling on a push bike - a high speed click click click kind of noise, almost like a ball bearing spinning....... it's weird I will be back when I've worked out how to upload a recording...
  21. Hi all I have a Lupo 1.4 sport and yesterday it decided to start making strange noises. Basically it's gone from running really sweet to sounding like it's a tractor or a diesel at least. It sounds kinda rough on idle but as soon as I accelerate it sounds plain awful... any ideas? I was thinking that it might be the front exhaust blowing (but it's def coming from the engine area so I'm not too sure)... I've always had aircooled engines before so I'm totally lost with watercooled cars lol
  22. Hey there... love the ride
  23. Hi all Well, we finally plucked up the courage and decided to remove the bump strips on Lily today... after deliberating about it for weeks and coming to the conclusion that we could always stick them back on if there was a nightmare laying beneath Before.... After.... lovely and smooth - wish we'd done it weeks ago!
