Thanks and thanks for sorting the photo - I hadn't realised I'd only pasted the link. That's after a good claying and a first polish as the last owner probably never even washed it... Now it just needs to stop raining so I can polish it!
  3. Thanks for the welcomes! Sadly Jon, it's just shy of 8 years old and the local dealers didn't want to know (including Lookers Teesside). The guy at Lookers Northallerton got pretty defensive and surly when I suggested that I knew that some had been done FOC (I mentioned no names) and the VW Customer Obstruction department were playing totally dumb. In the end I got the guys at Northallerton Tyre & Battery to do it and they charged about GBP200 all in, which seemed OK. Whatever, it's done now... Defcon5, it was just under a grand and Dub-Diva, there's a working link (I didn't realise you had to be in the Cult to see the first one) to a pic of how it was when I got it in Readers' Rides now. Except it's already out of date...

    Sorry! Try this... http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/2369/lupolh9.jpg
  5. I've looked through everywhere to try and find something on this, but I can't - sorry if it's already been posted elsewhere and I've been blind, but this has got me stumped: My passenger side window doesn't work. There's power going to the door (when I press the passenger side switch on the driver's side, there's a click at the passenger door, but nothing else) but no attempt to move at all. There's no nasty graunching noise like anything's stuck and there's too much resistance against the motor, just the click then nothing more. So I've got the door in bits (I can't remove the glass as it's fully up) and I've stripped the foam covers off. I can see the three bolts holding the regulator/motor on and I've undone them so in theory I should be able to remove the assembly, but it feels like it's being held in place by something else. Do I need to get the cables out first? Any help would be greatly appreciated on this one, as I'm totally at a loss...

Got this the other week: http://www.vuucult.com/forum-members-cars-...-time-t5615.htm Only maintenance bits at the time of the pics, but I put some new shocks and springs on over the weekend, so it's sitting a bit lower now (managed to give myself wrist knack trying to take a strut apart a touch enthusiastically - yes I am a big girl's blouse). It's coming apart again tomorrow as the rear bump stops are absolutely jiggered, so I'll get it cleaned and photo'd again after that. Plans for the future? Passenger side window to sort, some bits of paint to have done, aero wipers, debadged, side strips off and wheels when I can afford them...
  7. Hello to everyone. I joined up a while ago when I was going to swap the A4 for a Lupo then cleared off to Australia, so nothing happened. I'm back now and have picked up a super-cheap 1.4s. OK, so it became slightly less super-cheap when I realised the pedal box needed doing (grrr), but apart from a few little niggles so far so good... I'll stick a pic up in the Readers' Rides, but it's nothing you've not seen before at the moment. So, yeah, like, hi and stuff! 90
  8. Yes! Pagid Fast Road pads are great and only about GBP40 a set and are totally ace. I've had them on every car since my Starlet Turbo years back and they've never let me down. You can get them for Polos with 239mm discs and I *think* that yours uses the same setup. You should be able to get them from GSF, but they might have to order them specially (they'll be able to confirm the right part number too). For what it's worth I wouldn't touch Greenstuff with a barge pole. As for discs, fancy ones probably won't give you a noticeable improvement unless you've got cooling or glazing problems (I've never had glazing problems with Pagids). I'd go for plain Brembos (about GBP25 each from GSF) or Brembo Max (about GBP30 each from GSF) if you want something groovy. Euro Car Parts also do ATE Powerdiscs for a similar price to the Brembo Maxes, but they look a bit weird and I managed to kill them on my Polo TDI (though they were fine on my 306). I had Brembo Maxes and Pagid FRs on my old valver and that pulled up like nothing on earth - really nice pedal feel, totally progressive, stood up to punishment and really, really forceful stopping. All just my opinions of course, but I hope that helps!
  9. That looks brilliant. I love the stock wheels too.
  10. Hello I've finally got myself a Lupo and I wish I'd found this thread before I bought it - I just thought the clutch needed adjusting! Icegeezer (or anyone that's done this themselves): do you have to disconnect the steering column to do this? Are there any particularly tricky bits to look out for, or is it just generally fiddly and quite a long job? Thanks to everyone for all the information so far - it could well have saved me further outlay for clutches and gearboxes...
  11. Hi there I can't get the first link to work, so sorry for the question: What have you done performance-wise to the car? It seems to really shift on that video from the LCR... Lovely, lovely car. Thanks 90
