  1. Hi all, This has just been posted on my local vw owners forum by a member after the tragic death of his son recently... As a parent I can't even start to imagine what he, his wife and his family are going through right now, but wondered if anyone on here could sign the petition mentioned in his post below: hi guys, want to put this link up could as many as you can sign up in my on line petition i'm sending to the prime minister. my son johnny was killed on a unmaned un locked rail crossing in Peterborough he would have been 3 on sunday. he ran off from my wife and he was able to open the gate and get on to the track in a split second. these gates where changed two weeks before so they couldnt be locked - if a 2year old boy can get onto a rail crossing theres a problem. this crossing has no lights, no locks and no warning of on coming trains. my wife and johnnys brother paddy 4 who asks for him every day was feet away and see everything. hell is where we are and i dont want any other person to go through what we are, so i would like your help guys and girls an end to crossings with no warnings and unlocked gates http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/JohnnyHall/ thanks from terry hall father of johnny hall http://johnny.hall.gonetoosoon.org/ When you have filled in the form, you will get an e-mail which you have to open and verify your request to have your name on the petition. He would appreciate it if members could post this onto other forums so as many people sign the petition as possible. Thanks in advance.

  7. Hi everyone, Just wanted to say thanks to the other members for being there with laughs in the forum, and friendly help and advice when I needed it. I sold my Lupo Sport at the weekend and have now gone back to a golf, but I've enjoyed my time on Club Lupo and will still be recommending the site to people I might stick my head in here a few times but won't be around as much....
  8. Anyone remember chocolate Ready Brek?
  9. I had the same problem, it ended up being the idle valve stuck open and I had to replace the throttle body, drove the loop back from the garage and had a completely different drive, obviously didn't realise how bad it was getting over time :/

  16. so once it's sprayed with loads of cleaner, will the valve start working properly do you think?
  17. Hi My car wouldn't idle and kept stalling, advice taken on here about throttle body so took it to a mechanic with vag.com today. The fault it is throwing up is "Throttle Valve Positioner Open", and the mechanic seems to think that I need a new throttle body Could it be fixed by taking it off and cleaning it fully? Could it be a stuffed sensor? or should I just stomach the cost and replace it? Would appreciate any help/advice. Thanks.
  18. Quick update: My car practically died yesterday, was undriveable as the flipping thing kept stalling and our mechanic can't see car til Thursday so my husband took it round to our friend who had borrowed a full vag kit - no faults found! - so they decided to have a look at the throttle body as suggested... they got in via the air box, when lifting it they saw loads of oily muck (my car had a full service in March when it had a new filter) all over the new filter and the case. They got some carb cleaner and a couple of rags and were spraying and wiping for ages - good news is that my car is now running ok, although it is a temporary fix until the mechanic can take it off and clean it properly. Thanks for your help.
  19. thanks we've checked the earth and it's fine - will get it to our mechanic today cos we can't afford to have my car off the road, I'll mention the throttle body to him
  20. Hi guys Wondering if someone could help me please? Last week, my battery was totally flat and I had to get a jump start, I just thought it was because I left my i-pod plugged in overnight It was fine for a couple of days then went flat again Every time I have left her standing fo any period of time I have to get a jump start - it revs, shudders whilst idling and then stalls again I can get the engine started but it just keeps stalling.... I've taken her out for a good drive up and down the A1 but whenever I come to a roundabout/junction she'll just stall again Have replaced the battery but it's still happening... any ideas? Thanks
  21. A guy that has a bodyshop in my village
