A little bit of cleaning today...

This. I'd heard of them but not seen one. That is fricking awesome! Any shots outside for comparison?

How many low mileage, low owner lupo gti's are left...
Huw Pugh replied to sj2112's topic in Volkswagen Lupo
I think we've just ticked 63k -
You'd be better off with the Ibiza Cupra R set up than running a Porsche rear caliper flipped to the front I reckon. The Porsche rear caliper is only likely to offer the same braking power as a G60 set up.

Yes! Just yes! 16" RS's are on my radar so looking forward to seeing how these turn out.

The old classifieds need to come back

How much is it "tilting"? More than normal camber if you're low? Is it more on one side than the other? You need to have a look underneath really to see if theres any damage otherwise anything anyone says is just speculation.

This. Unless you need to run a skinnier tyre.

The arms are only £20/25 from eurocar parts so may be worth replacing them. I'd get the allignment checked first though if there's no visible damage.

Any more info on the spec of the red one?

That looks great. Love a bit of fresco! -
Thanks mate Cheers Cheers Alex. Considering I wanted to pack it all in at the start of the year, we've not done too bad. The car has been in VW with my mate for a once over this weekend. It was due a belt change and service but also changed the water pump and starter motor for good measure. While it was up on the ramps though he spotted the subframe has taken a knock at some point and a couple of bushes needed replacing. I was hoping to fit some new suspension over the weekend but the knock in the subframe made me think it's probably worth changing that and all the bushes in one go. I'm trying to resist completely going to town on the underside now.

I use bilberry on the daily and it's great. Be careful if you wear glasses though, it can affect the coating on the lens.

Presumably its the Touran grill. I'd have that that's a lot deeper/taller than the lupo one. Any pics?

Unless you can get the wrap cheap and do it yourself, I suspect it will cost nearly as much to wrap as it will to repaint. If it's not too bad, do you know anyone who can machine polish it?

We usually do a couple of local meets a year. Usually head up for a drive through the beacons although i've missed the last couple lol

Gti Slam Panel / Gti breaking
Huw Pugh replied to Huw Pugh's topic in Car Care, Maintenance and Mechanical
Ah bugger. Looks like ill have to wait for one breaking. Cheers for the help! -
Haven't updated this for a little while. Had a pretty good last few shows. Came away with Best in Show at VW Action and Best Euro Car at Forge Action Day. Also ended up in VW Driver mag after the Trackday. The car is off to VW shortly for a little routine work. It's due a service, belt change and waterpump before we get to work on the winter mods. Hopefully I'll be a little more organised with it this year.

Do you know what's different? The fixings look the same? -
Gti Slam Panel / Gti breaking

I must have looked at the wrong one before as I swear they were different but on a second look, they're almost identical! Doh! Tried them mate and the others that are breaking on ebay and they'd all sold them. Cheers though! Nice one mate, thank you. A little on the steep side I think but gives me a benchmark when looking for at a breakers now. Cheers.
