  1. You have been through the mill with this one. Is that an orange side running light they have added to get it legal to drive in Canada? I like the white 7 spoke wheels - are they Fox alloys? I suspect having very regularly seen the Pirrelli P slots & teardrop wheels on Mk1 Golfs back in the day - to me makes them look a little out of place on anything else, but still great wheels. No comment on the last Daihatsu ones! I dont think the multi-fit 5 spoke wheels are OEM VW, if they are there should be a part number on the back. They look good too, look like a few Speedline styles of wheel merged into one
  2. Im guessing this is a Mk2 or rado kit? What have you done with the Brembo Max discs?
  3. Thought the OP was talking about the Gti in his signature

  5. Having just done this to mine -with the spacer plate split from the stub axle, and a socket over the sensor head, I had to use a press to remove the sensors. They came out in one piece, but I wont re-use.

Finally got some time to work on the Lupo, I hope it wont be in this state for too long Rear beam out - I did'nt try keeping it attached to the brake pipes as had resigned my self to re-building the beam. Surprised to see the built in ARB is hollow, every other one I have seen is solid - is this part of the factory weight saving? RH rubber was peeling off the alloy inner of the bush, probably caused by the spring seat on that side having wound itself down lower: No idea where to get replacement ARB U-bolts, just hope its an off -the shelf size The adjusters look very crusty, not looked at them. ABS sensor just were not coming out - had to use a press to get them out - are they usually that bad? Still have to get the bushes out of the beam, currently using drill, hacksaw, pad saw and hammer. Found something weird with the rear calipers - they are pretty much brand new, but for some reason the PO decided to attack the mint powder coating to grind off something and then did a crappy job painting: Any thoughts? wondering if it was a Seat logo - the area is square or could they be non VAG? This is the only PN I can find on the RH caliper
  7. and he would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids
  8. Diesel Geek - How to adjust Mk4 Golf Gearlinkage -same set up on our Lupo's
  9. Mine does this on spirited exits of junctions. How are your control arm bushes? Cant believe it took a year to get the ball joints -were they on back order?
  10. No worries fella - leak at wiper requires a bit more involved work HERE
  11. Welcome - someone asked the same question within the last week, with a reply HERE
  12. yes please to the vid. good information on coil pack -if I do engine management +don't go sequential ignition with coil packs - I will probably just go ford coil pack, at least they are cheap, plentiful and a huge knowledge base out there
  13. Sounds good -pretty much what I am hoping to do with mine - mine is complicated by rear ARB also needing cleaning up & I dont like the yellow bushes white line use. I suppose I was lucky the PO had replaced the rear calipers with genuine OEM Red ones. On calipers its the handbrake assembly that is the weak part as it gums up. bellows dust seals can be tricky to fit, done a few Golf ones, but Lupo ones are smaller so even trickier.
  14. On the way home from work tonight I had a new TT racing me - think it was TFSI 230 brake - he tried very hard but he just couldn't leave me on straight main road and I was overtaking him on the outside of a big roundabout. Very amusing. What have you kept up with in your diminutive dub?
  15. You probably have realised by now you will just have to get new sensors -once that is comfy in your mind just go to town. Clean out the sensor opening really well & grease up the new sensors - stainless bolts for the sensors will help too if you ever need to go in there again. You mentioned your beam rebuild a while ago, how are you planning to do it?? paint or powder coat, bushes?
  16. I would be tempted to cut out the middle men and try powering direct from the battery From Sausages link, page 3 - just found out you can paste Snip tool images - Very cool! Terminal 4 on the coil pack is the switched live feed, there is 3 or 4 connections in the standard loom, removing them temporarily to test
  17. Oh - and you get all the required fittings with Lemforder stuff
  18. Lemforder are an OEM supplier to VW, sometimes their stuff comes with VAG part numbers on them, sometimes it has been ground off. Starline...i have never heard of before, suspect it is another ECP **** brand. I dont know if the track rod ends are specific or same as normal Lupo ones, or is it the rod? - all I know is I bought complete track rods and some of it I will have to replace for my rebuild. ECP are OK at refunds -I would take care of the packageing you get the ends in and very carefully compare existing You can live without the metal plate.
  19. They should be M12 x 1.5mm self locking nut - Ebay

On Gumtree - in Rich's backyard Durham - 1.0l Arosa being broken - seller happy to post at cost, that is assuming they are the same beam?
  21. thanks - I think most of their stuff is online, was more interested in how logical the SW is. Help line comment is noted, bet they are a Ford guy!
