  1. Last night on my way home saw a green lupo with white alloys on M1 southbound (around junc 30). See this one most days actually but I'm usually on the otherside of the carriage way. Also saw a green one on M1 northbound @ jnc 34. Car was lowered and had tints. Both were spotted last night between 5-6pm Also spotted a yellow Lupo which had been lowered, wind deflectors, and what appeared to be a 12 year old boy driving. That was on the A619 but followed me onto the Holmewood Ind Park.
  2. Thanks chaps. Certainly nothing there that puts me off. Keep telling myself I wont spend money on it, but pretty sure i'll end up buying coilovers. Are the cheaper ones just a bit firmer?
  3. Thanks Koop. Early 928s were 7x16 all round, later ones were 8 x 16 on the rear. Offset is quoted at 65mm, but i've seen it listed as 52mm on some ads. Think the PCD is 5x130, but I know FK do adaptors this isn't critical.
  4. Lenso BSX are a good BBS replica, about a 1/3 of the cost of RS001.
  5. Take it to JBS Give them 8 grand .... Profit.
  6. I know, but at least there a little more inkeeping with VW rather than some cheapo JDM rip offs.
  7. Bloody Rotas. Everywhere. Whats wrong with some g60 steels, BBS RA or some porsche 928s? At a push Lenso BSX are a cheap wheel. I assume Rota are donating?
  8. Really not worth it to be fair. you have to plough serious dough into an engine swap or have the skills to do it yourself. Filter/exhaust will help a little, but your talking 5hp max. Replacing plugs/injectors will make it run a bit smoother.
  9. Not sure if its the same one but I see a silver GTi around Dronfield bypass most mornings!
  10. Black centre / silver rim. Or green centre / black rim or Flash red / white rim
  11. Also, if anyone has any pics of a white lupo on g60s or 928s, that'd be dreamy.
  12. Hi all, thinking of picking up two sets of wheels in differing sizes, just wanted to see if anyone thinks i'll run into problems. I plan to lower the car on -40mm springs, the dampers are brand new and the car is an auto daily snotter, so not going to see any vigourous driving, so coilovers seem like a bit of a waste, especially as i want to retain comfort and ride (no scraping sumps or knocking!) I plan to pick up some 928 rims and hub adaptors, and a set of G60 steels for winter. What am i likely to be up against? Will the arches defo need rolling? Will the 928s even fit, or do i need two sets of narrower fronts? I'm not averse to stretching tyres on the 928 rims but would like something comfier for winter - what tyre sizes am I looking for? Thanks in advance chaps.
  13. Rainsports are what I run on the ST. They are a fantastic all weather tyre.
  14. +1. Mine was a pioneer unit but same problem. Take the stereo out, have a look at the iso connector and you should be able to swap red/yellow wires round.
  15. Could you please tell me what those 16s are? Really like the look of those!
  16. eesh, didn't want to hear that! Trying to find the right wheel/height combo whilst retaining some comfort for the daily hack! Yours looks really good but might be a much for the 50 mile commute though...
  17. i have some standard 1.4s steels if your interested? They're immaculate. Srsly. Like new.
  18. What suspension is it running in your original post, and how low was it? P slots are a funny wheel. Look so much better fitted to a car than off it.
  19. At last someone else that speaks my language. Not had this problem with the Lupo, but passengers are forever dicking with the Recaro seat in the ST. It looks untidy.
  20. Do you have any pics of the Bora steels you mean? I assume Bora is still 4x108 pcd? Not so keen on the paint idea. Might have to find white walls and work my way back from there!
  21. Looks like a quality job, not sure i'd have gone with black on black though. Black/white check would've looked cool!
  22. I think you need to use the sailor jerry rat rod for inspiration... Http://www.hotrod.com/feature_stories/hrdp_1209_1931_model_a_tudor_2012_lamborghini_aventador_lp700_4_road_trip/viewall.html
  23. Bear in mind that due to the nature of suspension components, even when brand new out of the factory your speedo will over read by as much as ten percent. Its not an exact science, there will be some change in performance whwn changing wheels, but it will be barely noticable.
  24. Wouldn't mind seeing pics when its done, as i'm planning the same. To the OP - Stick to springs, coilovers would probably be overkill for what you need.
