    Yoooo

Hahaha totally wasn't expecting that! After I saw the first one thought someone was away to say don't buy a lupo just cos it looks good on the outside etc etc. I often find the best way to find out what sorta things to look for when buying cars is to fire "vw lupo buying guide" or similar into google. Then there's all the usual stuff like rust, knocks/bangs/rattles etc
  2. Welcome mate, what plans you got for her? Sam
  3. Welcome mate and good luck finding a gti, any reason it has to be raven blue? Not sure why you can't see classifieds but I'd imagine you need your post count to a certain level before they can be seen, most forums work like that anyways.
  4. I would like to add though the big problem is BUYING a car with high mileage on it. If you rack up the miles yourself like my great uncle did, it can last forever. When buying, you go about the extremely difficult task of buying a car that hasn't been abused/not looked after properly etc.
  5. Or re-build it. 141k miles is nothing! I thought the folk on this topic were being sarcastic at first......my great uncle's mercedes has 250,000 miles on the clock and still looks and drives like new. Oh and what about this badboy? Superior German Engineering ftw! http://www.outsideonline.com/adventure-travel/The-Worlds-Greatest-Traveler-A-1988-Mercedes-That-Has-Been-to-172-Countries.html

    Hi !!! Lupo

Welcome mate, it's me from the facebook page. What's up with the engine like?
  7. It's a VW, that's no major achievement. They can last forever if looked after and maintained properly!
  8. No surprise there as BMW is superior to Honda
  9. My dad has a 57 reg s2000 and I love it, the interior certainly isn't cheap looking and the leather is decent...not sure if those things were optional extras/chosen by original buyer or not? I am a fan of z4's, I just think looks wise the s2000 won. Both are cars I would consider owning in the near future but atm i've my eyes on an m3.... Your z4 looks very nice btw, enjoy!
  10. I would have to disagree, S2000's are nicer looking but overall I prefer BMW to Honda.
  11. I would imagine Marmalade Pot would be packed at the weekend being a restaurant and all. Kingsway Retail Park in Dundee may be good location, usually lots of free space there and huge Tesco, Pizza Hut, Burger King etc there. I would of thought though that Dundee may be quite far for folk who stay down Dumfries way etc
  12. I did say I know sod all about fords.

    I'm back!

Always love a mk2, glad you saw the light and ditched the Audi for a dub!
  14. Changing the grill is a mod. Anything that is different to the factory spec is a mod. Even putting alloys on your car is a mod that needs declared (shouldn't affect your insure too much though).
  15. Lookin decent mate, hello from Aberdeen
  16. 24 pages! Arsed reading it all! Looks good on 17s actually, think i've realised what it is I don't like about bigger wheels on cars such as golfs.......The golf shell is longer horizontally and shorter vertically. Whereas the lupo/fox is quite a tall shell but not as long. The taller body makes the bigger wheels work I think whereas on a golf the "wheel to height ratio" is much smaller. As I said a few days ago when I joined this forum i've never really been much of a lupo guy in the past (although I love vws). I love cars such as golf/corrado/mk2 jetta and e30/e36/e46 etc bmws. DEFO prefer smaller cars though over big beasts like 7 series, x5, cayenne, range rover etc. Too much weight! Problem with super small cars though is it's difficult to stick a v6/v8 etc in it!
  17. Declare your mods. No explanation needed. End of.
  18. Nice mate, love a mk1 project. Not a fan of the red/gold shell paint though....
  19. Looks alright actually. One example I can think of though is 17s on a golf vr6 (15s as standard), don't like that!
  20. Would have to see a picture first to make an opinion.......google time
  21. Wow that's geeky but impressive! Please don't take the geeky comment the wrong way btw, i'm a massive geek in certain ways too haha
  22. Nit! Bigger wheels make cars look like they're wearing shoes that are too big for them!
  23. Aye it's not an arosa/lupo but it's a vw AND it's the lupo's big bro Looks decent, apart from it needing a wash
