  1. I have some GTI springs for sale, pm me if your interested
  2. Right, latest news from the body shop. They left it in the oven over from friday and took it out this morning and the paint has taken thank god! Seems the only thing that seems to work is as Silver has said is to really dry it out first for a long time in an oven, then painted and left to dry in an oven again but at a lower temp so the paint dosent set as quick for a long long time. Pick it up at lunch and cant wait!! This evening i can fit my spacers all round and polo gti wheels (centres sprayed anthracite grey to match the car with polished lip).
  3. My lupo gti is in having some TLC at the local bodyshop. The boot spoiler paint has started to bubble so that was on the list for them to do. At the moment they've tried to paint it 3 times and the paint keeps 'reacting' in their words. What do you think the problem could be ? wrong primer maybe ? What are the GTI spoilers made of ? Im thinking fibre glass ?
  4. Im going to speak to the body shop and see of they can do anything about those because i definately dont want them left silver. Hopefully they can key the plastic so it will except the paint.
  5. So, the lupo's going into the bodyshop on wednseday for a few touch ups. While its there im going to get the wheels refurbed (standard Bathurst wheels). Instead of sivler wheels im thinking something like the BMW M5 'Shadow Chrome' colour. What do you think and any suggestions. http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/attachments/e39-m5-e52-z8-discussion/126964d1298121547-shadow-chrome-refurb-diamond-styling-dsc_0750.jpg - simialr to the Anthractie but with a bit more shine to it.
  6. Once again thanks for the help, no pics yet dude. The lady i bought the car of hadnt treated the bodywork with much respect i.e. she couldnt drive for toffee so its going into a local bodyshop on wednesday and then il take some pics.
  7. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300502810656?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Do these look ok ? If so does the GTI use radius or cone seated bolts ?
  8. That looks spot on dude!!! I like the Bathursts in that colour aswell. Seeing as my GTI is Anthracite i think it would blend in too much though...shame,
  9. Sorry mate 30mm is too big, dont want any arch rubbing.
  10. Apologies all, i have searched and i know theres a thousand other threads. I have read that certain makes of hubcentric spacers dont fit very well and i cant find the thread that tells me this. So im after some 20mm hubcentric spacers ? What can you recommend ? Thanks James
  11. Went for the H&R's in the end hopefully being fitted on saturday, thanks for the replys and info
  12. haha i would like to but couldnt justify spending that amount. We've got a little one due next month and whilst my misses has got an estate car (the family car) i dont think she'd appreciate me spending the best part of £600
  13. Interesting, i never knew they were sold as an upgrade. Im not fussed at spending the extra £60 but if H&R are still a good spring then il probably go for them, just interested if anyone on here has used them.
  14. Im looking for a set of springs for the lupo gti, not coilovers. The only coilovers i would get are KW's but i dont want to spend that much. Ive searched and searched the net trying to find opinions on the H&R springs but cannot find any. I understand the Eibachs are very good and ive always gone for eibachs with all my cars but the H&R are £60 cheaper. They lower the car pretty much the same. So does anyone have any views on these springs ?
  15. Thanks for the replies chaps, il check my tyre sizes later. I believe there 195's or 205's though. Definately dont want to go lower. I really enjoy the handling of the car so the last thing i want is for the arches to rub when im throwing it round corners! On a slightly different note are eibachs still a good spring for the Lupo GTI's ? or are H&R a better choice ?
