  1. Maybe so, still doesn't change the fact the car is well overpriced under the circumstances.
  2. What is the 'cage' mod? Have I missed something?
  3. It'll need a new screen, not many fitters are good enough these days to remove & refit them without breaking them
  4. Er Matt, looking at your pic is that an 'open air' Lupo? I'd be checking the roof seals before anything else with a high pressure hose!
  5. Utter p*ss-take tbh Swoxy (original owner) sold it at £1995 HERE It was then sold by Jamaka aftert a few mods had been done (including the plate) @ £2600 HERE It's been abused ever since & he wants £3500 for it?!!!
  6. Theres no holes in the roof gutters, the strips are dublse side taped or glued into place.
  7. When was the last time you changed your oil & what one are you using?
  8. Easy way to test this (as they do at windscreen places) grab your bucket & fairy liquid & go to your local garage that has a free airline, mix up a weakish mixture of water & fairy liquid & run it round the edge of the screen, then using the airline blow air around the edge of the glass from the inside (stand outside & put your hand in to do this). Any gaps in the seal will show up where bubbles start appearing
  9. Weird, they look like Integra seats but the recaro stitching is in totally the wrong position. Most of the newer Recaro seats have the logo/stitching below the headrest not on or above.
  10. Forgot to ask, are you going colour coded?
  11. 1) Jen 2) Colin 3) Adam B 4) EaRNi! 5) andyp 6) paulbin 7) Clairey 8) Kenzie 9) Max69vk Doh! Just read the first post! Double doh! Does this actually mean only the people on the indoor stand can get a room or does it mean no-one can get a room?
  12. Still got my Lego technics racer buggy its about 0.5m long & it has a fully working steering, suspension, 3 speed gearbox, moving pistons & pop up headlights. Its bloody awesome
  13. Always worth giving the throttle body a good cleaning before trying anything else
  14. It used to be Swoxy's car before Jamakabi, it was mint back then.
  15. ^^^^^ Basically covers everthing I said at OE The wheels are already acid etch primed & have 5 coats of paint on so all you need to do is use a grey 'Scotch' pad (available from Halfords) to key up the existing paint. When you've done this wipe them over with a tack rag or clean cloth to remove any dust residue before painting. the order to paint areas of the wheel are as follows (always spray with the wheel face up/down if possible)..... Start from the inside of the wheel by spraying the spoke edges & where the spokes meet the rim (if this doesn't make sense let me know). Next spray the rear basket. Turn the wheel over & from the front spray the spoke edges & where they meet the rim Next spray the faces of the spokes/wheel moving back & forth from one side of the wheel right across to the other side (do not double back over the same area) you are looking to get a slight overlap on the paint as you move from side to side not spray the same area twice. Now here is the key to all this..... On the first coat go fairly light with the spray this is only the base or binding coat & is not intended to fully cover it just gives something for the next few coats to adhere to. After you have done your first coat leave the paint for at least 5 minutes to 'flash off', this basically lets all of the wetness of the paint evaporate ready for the next coat. Before applying the second coat gently touch the paint in the rear basket with your finger, the desired effect should be that the paint is only just tacky with a minimum amount coming off on your finger. On the second coat paint the wheel in the same order as above but go slightly heavier with the paint. This time you are looking to get a slightly wet/glossy finish but again this coat is not intended to fully cover, after you have applied this coat leave the paint to flash off for at least 10 minutes. Again to the touch test on the rear of the wheel before proceeding. Third coat, potentially the finishing coat (dont worry if it is not you can always do another if needed) paint in the same order as above but add a slightly thicker/wetter coat of paint all over. DO NOT get the spray can closer to the rim to apply more paint (always spray at 25-30cm distance) the technique is in the speed at which you move the spray - Moving slower will apply a smoother more even coat, fast will be a dusty dry coat. By now the wheels should be fully/evenly coated however if not you can apply a 'dust coat'. Dust coats are usually only used on metallic paints but can be very helpful on solid colours too. If after the third coat you notice an uneven or patchy finish sit the wheel flat or face up (this must be done while the 3rd coat is still wet) then hold the spray can approx 40-50cm distance from the wheel consatntly spraying & moving in random directions to create a 'dusty' spray which will initially look a bit bobbly when it hits the wet paint. Dont worry it will soak into the wet paint while it flashes off & will help fill any missed/blotchy patches. Leave the wheels for at least 48 hrs to harden. Now you have 2 options.... 1. If the finish looks reasonable you can LIGHTLY rub the spokes over with 2000 grit wet & dry to remove any bits & then polish up by hand with a compound, or..... 2. Repeat all of the above with laquer to add some extra protection to the paint. Any questions on the above give me a shout!

    Im sorry...

They look quite similar to a couple of the MIM style wheels
  17. I had this happen at my last job when we used a picture online, it had no notification to say it was copyrighted or we would be charged for using it when it was copied. 3 months with our legal department & they coughed up the £1800 'royalties' fees as we didn't have a leg to stand on, I'd get him ready to lean over over lube up if I was you
  18. No point scrimping on brakes when you're getting a 1.8t fitted, no matter what the cost. Sell a testicle if needs be!
  19. Its worse on the Arosa than the lupo as the front bumper mounting block/screw in the front arch sticks out further.
  20. Only if you call a full respray bar the roof & bootlid an easy job!
  21. Eibach Springs are 40/35mm which should explain the slight nose down stance. Very comfortable ride but they wont make that much difference on a GTI as it already sits 20mm lower anyway.
  22. I hope you've rolled your front arches! Looking sweet though
