  1. Was very easy to take off. i don't know anything about the 1.4 engines so can't help you there.
  2. yeh i was really suprised by how much crap there was. It took a while taking it all off as well, was well baked on.

    vw lupo gear knob

i'm after a nice looking one but don't know which one to get. anyone got pics of their knobs to help me choose?
  4. hi Jon, my car has just hit 50,000 miles on the clock. Ever since i've done this, i have driven it for around 40 miles now and all is well. no engine check light or anything.
  5. the car felt looser, feels much better now though!
  6. A while ago, i took the four restrictor pipes off in the inlet manifold area. After removing them i noticed a lot of black gunk that covered all four inlet pipes. (i'm guessing the EGR system is responsible for this build up!) Today i decided to have a go at trying to get rid of this black gunk. So i started off with removing the air box that sat on top of the inlet manifold (five bolts): This then reveals six bolts that holds the inlet manifold in: This is the build up of gunk i was talking about!: The gunk was quite hard, so i used a lot of brake cleaner and scrubbed it till the crap came off: (This is the amount of gunk that came out only after partially cleaning one inlet!) Sorry no pictures of it all cleaned because my camera died! After removing all the gunk, you can actually see the bore clearly and bigger! Test Drive: A lot more respoonsive and revs looser and smoothly. Car feels much better and i recommend disconnecting and blocking the vacuum line that connects to the EGR valve so non of this gunk will build up again. Cheers for reading.
  7. normally i would just give them a good rub down, a nice few coats of primer, then paint, and lastly a good coating of lacquer. If you don't have access to a compressor then you're best getting them done at a good local bodyshop because the quality and finish will be much better.

    Strut Braces

I had an upper strutbrace back in the days when i owned a saxo (shh!) to be honest, it didn't do anything at all. It looked nice though! I was told that you would feel an improvement in handling if you fit an upper and lower strutbrace.
  13. Ricoshay, your lupo is damn smart!
  14. Sounds like you got a bargain!
