  1. Do the 5mm thicker GTi discs just bolt on or do I need the GTi calipers also? Thanks nfbr
  2. Thanks for the imput nfbr... So is there an upgrade solution other then performance discs and pads?
  3. Looking for a front TDI brake upgrade without loosing std. 14" wheels... I reamember reading about VW Corrado G60 calipers / discs may work? Can anyone confirm an nice inexpensive upgrade? Thanks all! ps. Are TDI brakes the same as GTI and or 1.4 / 1.0 versions?
  4. Do these fit without adaptors, it looks like there 6.5" and I thought standard was 6": http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpine-spe17cs-p-5453.html . ??
  5. Thanks Glen and others - this advice was much appreciated... I think I will go for these 1/2 inch bigger then standard (6.5" speakers): http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpine-sxe1750s-p-2988.html with the necessary adaptor http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/p...ts_id/2007.html - I presume these will fit within the door cards no problem? Unless anyone knows a real good, cheaper 6" direct firt option?
  6. Feedback appreciated all! This is the new upgrade head unit I own (factory fit on bigger SEAT's I think?): http://62.15.226.148/fot/2008/01/17/7111185.jpg (Alana MP3) I want better sound from the speakers... Are these a direct swap: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpine-sxe1750s-p-2988.html or do I also need: http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/p...ts_id/2007.html What is the standard size and is there a cheaper alternative on eBay? Thanks all!!
  7. "6.5" Rainbow" - http://www.dnacaraudio.co.uk/applogic/prod...way_system.html Are these speakers a direct swap? Anyway they are a little out of my price range.... anything below £70 or much less How about these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Wharfedale-Valdus-12...86.c0.m14.l1318 Links to good eBay deals appreciated!

Attn. nfbr: It would be great to see you video's on Youtube, why don't you upload? Also you said you removed the sponge in the wing through which the air is drawn, is this easy to remove, why was it there and what are the possibilities of water ingress? Thanks!
  9. Want better sound Can anyone recommend some great value upgrade speakers, any on eBay at the mo? Links to good deals appreciated! Thanks all! ps. What size and spec are the standard ones?
  10. >> Cardaft! << Thanks... you were 100% correct, the connector had come apart, bad design IMO! Anyway on my car it was not accessable through the lower door panel, just the upper door card, however even then it was behind the parcel shelf support trim, I managed to relocate it so if it happens again it now sits behind the upper door panel (near side). I also used some tape to be sure the pipes stay together this time! Nice one, thanks again! ps. While I want looking inside the door it was great to see it plastered in wax seal!
  11. Nice feedback! I'll take a look this weekend and report back my findings! Thanks!
  12. Anyone had this problem? How is it resolved? Thanks all!
  13. ON TDI's its harder due to space thats for sure! Toot you said: "Its so easy to remove the sidelight bulbs by just pulling on the bulb housing" - really, does anyone have a photo of the rear of the light unit? I tried pulling but did not want to pull to hard unless I broke something?
