  1. There is no existing 6 speed box that's a straight fit though.
  2. If it was a Fresco T5 bus or B5.5 Passat, then maybe...
  3. Thanks! I miss those days.
  4. The fuse puller lives on the back of the fusebox cover. You should have compressor, foam sealant stuff, screwdriver, spanner, and the centre cap pulling tool. They didn't come with a jack or wheelbrace as there is no need since there's no spare wheel. Also the space for a tow eye is misleading, as the tow eyes both front and rear are fixed in place, so not sure why that cutout is there.
  5. There's not an 8v in the UK. He's not in the UK. I think it'll never happen. Just buy a 16v one. Why build what you can already buy?
  6. With G60 discs and carriers, the pad is further away from the point that the disc/wheel/hub rotates around, and therefore you get an increase in braking torque. Imagine having a longer handle on your trolley jack; it would take less effort to jack the car up. The surface area of the disc is also increased, because although the distance across the face is the same (to match the pad), it's further away from the centre. Basically it's a bigger ring. Also, some of the extra weight is offset by the fact that G60 discs are 22mm thick, whereas standard GTI discs are 25mm thick. Now I had G60 discs and carriers with Ferodo DS2500 pads on my first GTI (they were on it when I bought it). My current one has good condition standard discs and Pagid pads. I don't find anything wrong with the standard brakes to be honest. The main benefit is they look better behind the wheels!
  7. 14x6 is the standard size. Can't remember the exact offset but I think it will be ET43 - you could check your spare wheel. Tyre size is the same as for the alloys at 185/55/14.
  8. There is a VW Lupo/ Seat Arosa parts group on facebook which always seems to have loads of stuff listed on. I think that's where a lot of stuff sells the days.
  9. What did you code it to, Lupo/Polo?

I run mine on a win Xp virtual machine and it works fine.
  11. I should add, my comments about the bushes are valid as I actually fitted them before I changed the suspension (in the last pic the old strut is visible).
  12. Well since this thread has been raised from the dead I may as well post an update. The Eibach springs and Arosa sport dampers were removed and a H&R Comfort Kit (TDI specific) fitted: H&R compared to Eibach/OE combo: Meaty spring compressor... no springs are escaping from this! Had to swap these bits over from the original dampers to keep the dust covers in place: I replaced the front wishbone rear bush, ARB link bushes and rear beam bushes with Powerflex ones. New OEM top mounts and bearings were fitted to the front struts too. New stainless nuts and washers for the ARB link, and zinc plated high tensile bolts for the ball joint mount finished the job off nicely: Replacing the bushes wasn't as difficult as I was expecting. The old parts: The poly bushes do make the car feel very tight to drive. Definitely worth it if you plan on keeping the car for a while. My old ones weren't too bad so it wasn't night and day, but considering their longevity, performance benefits, lack of impact on ride quality, and the fact that they are probably easier to fit than replacement OEM wishbone bushes would be, make them a worthwhile purchase...
  13. I had a feeling it was the same car! I tipped cardaft off about this, although I wasn't 100% sure it was the same car as the SEAT branded number plates threw me. Maybe another owner fitted those. Good to hear the cruise control is still working Someone was pushing their luck
  14. Hi, yes I've had a few. My mum had a green SE for 7 years, and I used to have an anthracite GTI at the same time: I sold the GTI to fund an A4 cab and gave the TDI to my mum. Reluctantly we sold the SE. Then about two years after selling the anthracite GTI I bought another one: To answer your question, the TDi was on Eibach springs. However it's now on a H&R comfort kit (in the last pic). I've also fitted a GTI rear beam and polybushed most things since I last updated this thread! The stereo is back to standard now too.
  15. If he gave you your money back then you haven't lost anything have you? So just go and buy another pair. I have a pair I would sell cheap as the bottom of the drivers side one is damaged, but you could just use the drivers side one you already have.
  16. Adding rear spacers of 10mm each side will actually make it square, as on a GTI it's only the front track that is widened. However my main reason for wanting some is to lose some of the tuck on the back after lowering. Been reading up on stub axle spacers. They are about 1/4 the price of spacers but look harder to fit.
  17. Standard height with Cambridge rears. Saw you giving it some on the M90 heading north this evening! Show yourself!
  18. Dash display looks good. Been thinking about doing that for a while. I could make the GTI match my A4! Nice to see the Gamma modified to match too
  19. There seems to be a few Red GTI's cropping up at the moment! Will have to start a thread for mine. Yours looks very clean and I really like the R32 interior.
  20. It needs scanning with VCDS for fault codes really. One thing that springs to mind is that the crankshaft position sensor might be on it's way out - this is used by the ECU to tell it when to inject fuel, when it starts to fail it gives false information so the ECU tries to inject at the wrong time and the car won't run. If it's faulty you can just unplug it and still use the car as the ECU will use the signal from the crankshaft position sensor instead. Just means it will take longer to start. However this does not explain why it only happens when decelerating.
  21. It is 7mm. You can buy a Laser brake caliper key in 7mm which is perfect. Halfords sell them if you are in a rush.
  22. Is it not just glue residue? Autoglym tar remover worked when I did mine.
  23. Hi, Your Lupo is coming along nicely, and has the best choice of engine . What is the benefit of the 3L intake pipe, is it less restrictive? Jon
