    My Lupo 1.0

Sadly my Lupo is now sold... So I will add some pictures of my new car (Unfortunately on winter wheels) and the two last pictures I took of my Lupo. Before I sold it i removed the coilovers, and it was running on winter wheels. The new owner got my coilovers and wheels so hopefully it will be low again before the summer. And lastly I would like to thank everyone on this forum for all the help you have given me both through DIY's and through different threads. I guess I will still stay in the background on this forum, and hopefully I will be back with another Lupo sometime in the future.. best regards Stein
  2. As i mentioned earlier in this thread I ordered some felt tape. Had the same problem as you, but after putting some felt tape where the two pieces rub against each other there is no more creaky steering wheel in my car.. I will try to take a picture of how I did it before I sell the Lupo tomorrow.
  3. I have stuffed foam in every unthinkable place inside my dash, but on some places the foam just doesn't fit. So I just ordered some felt tape from ebay, and hopefully this will help me to win my neverending fight against annoying sounds from the dash..
  4. Best picture I have of the glass plug I have on my car. Bought it from Gecleant.de
  5. I would buy coilovers instead of springs. Almost the same price, and the Lupo is very high off the ground on standard suspension. These are pictures of my car at winter height. All the way down in the back with adjusters in, and maybe 2-3 cm from the bottom at the front. TA Technix coilovers. Better pic of how the back wheel sits, 13" rabbit gti wheels with 175/70-13 balloon tires.. Summer height with 15" ATS cups Let me know if you want me to delete the pictures from your thread.
  6. Welcome to club lupo.. =) Car looks good, even though I'm not a fan of the front. Remember seeing this car on finn.no when it was for sale. Now you just need some coilovers before the summer. Parts and retardshave good service and good prices on coilovers.

    My Lupo 1.0

Been a long time since the last time I updated this thread. First a picture showing the difference between width on summer vs vinter wheels.. =) And sadly I have to sell my lupo, just bought a mkv GTI so can't justify to have two cars parked outside the apartment. Have to admit it's a bit more fun with 200PS instead of 50PS, and the DSG-box is just brilliant.. So these are the photos used in the ad. Wheels are original 13" with 175/70-13 wintertyres and the suspension is raised a couple of cm for the winter.
  8. Glad you got it fixed. I have had the same problem as long as I've owned the lupo. Changed the bulb and changed the switch on the gearbox, but still no luck. And I never found out which fuse that "controlled" the reversing light.
  9. Bilthamber surfex HD diluted 1:5 is always a winner when cleaning the engine. And I have never had any problems with using a pressure washer and I have been detailing part time for some time now. Done over 50 cars over the last years and never had any problems. Just be careful and use common sense. And another tip is to start the engine and let it run for 5-10 minutes after cleaning so that it dries. And spray everything with autoglym vinyl and rubber shine afterwards and admire your work. Pictures from a job i did last year:
  10. If these wheels are unpainted aluminum I wouldn't use megs WB on them because WB is a very strong acid and will cause the aluminum to oxidize and make them white. Like this: I would try with an non-acid wheel cleaner first, such as Valetpro bilberry, autosmart smart wheels or P21 wheel cleaner. Then I would remove the tar with autosmart tardis and if there still are some spots left, then try to clay them to remove the remaining spots. And after a good polish with a metal polish the wheels will sparkle again.
  11. I had ATS cups on my Lupo earlier this year, but I got bored so bought some new OZ's.
  12. Looking good with the new wheels Håkon.
  13. Got mine from the VW dealer here in Norway. But I have 2 cupholders, not like the one posted with one cupholder and a coin tray.
  14. I can't help you, but I have the same problem. Haven't had a reversing light for over a year now. First I changed the bulb and afterwards I changed the sensor on the gearbox. But it still doesn't work.. Last thing to do is to check the bulb connector with a voltmeter to check if there is anything happening back there..
  15. Thats a mean little car. Seems like you have done a good job with it..
  16. I bought mine from VW here in Norway. So you should be able to get some new badges from VW UK also.
  17. The thingy above the dials can be split in two. Just undo the two screws that is located on the inside of the shade, right above the dials. And after this is done you will see where the rattles comes from. I used some foam in all the places where the outer part connects to the inner part of the shade part and all my rattles disappeared. And I got my cupholders from my vw dealer.
  18. Hi guys and girls. I have had some problems with the temp readings inside the car for a while, first I changed the temp sensor and all was well for a month or two. And for the last couple of weeks the car will reach 90 degrees when standing still, but when I start driving the temp falls below 70 degrees. So yesterday I decided to change the thermostat, but when I got the thermostat housing off it revealed a total mess inside. The thermostat housing was broken and the thermostat, spring, rubber seals and some other things was all in parts. So now I have ordered a new thermostat housing and will be fitting it as soon as I get it. Currently driving without a thermostat, but reckon this is not a problem? But my question is this, would anyone take the time to explain how the new thermostat should be installed? I have no idea since the old one was a complete mess. A picture would be great. TIA, Stein
  19. Heisann Bjørnar. Nice to have you here, you might recognize me from DCN? The mods for this season looks very nice.
  20. That is one BIG amp.. Bye bye rear seats.. Looking good.
  21. I had the same noise in my Lupo when I had the gearbox oil changed. There was no noise before I changed the oil so I took it back to the garage again. They changed the oil once more and added a new oil with some additives to make it more viscous. I'm no mechanic so can't explain how this works, all I know is that the whining disappeared..

    My Lupo 1.0

Just bought a under bonnet sound dampening plate from VW, remember to order clips to attach it when you order it. And also installed some Hong Kong Leds for my interior light and rear numberplate light. The interior light is too much blue for my taste, so gonna order a new white LED soon. Will try to post some pictures after the easter.
  23. I decided to not remove my bump strip because I know there will be a difference in colour beneath it because my car has been resprayed at some point. Unless you are 100% sure that the car has never been resprayed you should always calculate with the risk that there might be a different colour underneath and a respray might be needed to fix it. (unless done by a good painter who took the strips off when he painted)
  24. I also have a squeaky noise from the same area. Drives me crazy and would like to know what causes this?
