  1. Poobah Have not done it, but certainly flirted with the idea. Lupo Gti (wrote off) Golf mk4 turbo Clio 182 (sadly missed as well) Ford Fiesta ST Alfa Mito 155 Alfa Mito Cloverleaf. All good stuff, enjoyed ownership of all, and yet there is still a special place in my heart for the Lupo. Black (fastest colour) 6spd and air. Really miss the xenons even now. Jason (vintage member)
  2. depending on your terms of reference regards "the future" the thing that bothers me the most is, I will not be around to see it. Cure for cancer? light speed travel? joe 90 (matrix) style education Some of the advances in technology in the recent past, has been remarkable. But where next. Jayson feeling philosophical at the moment
  3. Pics stuff Jay in the 182
  4. Can I come even though I do not own a lupo now? Very much my neck of the woods, and would be nice to see some new faces. Jayson former owner
  5. Very sad news. Bit late to this thread but for the newer members this is what it used to look like. (at least if this works) stuff Jayson lupo less but the fire still burns

Regards photoshop. You can do an awful lot with an underexposed image but not with an overexposed image, once it is burnt out, that is it, there is no information there to do anything with. Jayson
  7. I am from a working class background and I am still working class. Yet I have always voted blue. The only red I had any respect for was Robin Cook. Tack sharp mind. Unlike tone "show me the bombs, three words at a time" blair. Cannot even bring myself to give his name capitals. What troubles me is, given the amount of back stabbing and general in fighting that the reds are currently going through, why have the blues not capitilised on the situation. They have not utterd a word in an attempt to make political gain. I am strongly of the opinion they do not want to be in goverment because the national accounts are in such a mess. Mr stealth took over one of the strongest economies in world, left to him by the blues. Yet he has borrowed more than any other chancellor on record. House prices. The govt has no reason to curb house price inflation. Every house over 125k is a wedge in stamp duty to happy gordon. Inhertence tax, this was supposed to tax the rich, many working class families now fall into this bracket. No fault of their own they cannot control the rise in prices. But fear not gordon will have his wedge. This is one of the highest taxed places on earth. liked Cameron while in the contest for leader, but his ideas about telling local party voters who is going to stand for election because it looks good for the figures, is not good. I vote on merit not becuase it puts a tick in the box of equal representation. Stealthy boys roll of honour. 150 backdoor taxes, speaks volumes to me, but make up your own minds. http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/garbagegate/item2/stealth.htm And one that is close to all our hearts Speed Cameras • The money raised from them is either used to buy more cameras or paid to the Treasury. As the government has no intention of removing cameras from sites where the death and serious injury rate rises after the camera is installed, it is obvious that speed cameras are there to raise revenue by stealth rather than to improve road safety. February 2005 The revenue from speed camera fines in 2003/4 was up 63% compared to receipts in 2002/3. But then we knew tat anyway. jayson votes, without fail.

  13. Had a look a czt based on the performance figures. Really wanted to like it but just could not. Interior is something from the fisher price parts bin and like a lot of other manufacts they have gone the tall mpv style. I do not expect to have to step down out of it. Also it was out done by a fiesta on fifth gear. The figures said czt should win but the fiesta wooped its ass. Too tall and lollopy. J my two p

Beofre this decends into a typical photography type thread, which usually goes along the lines of if is not the £4500 daddy then it is no good. Just remember it is only a tool. It is a black box with an opening at the front that lets some light in. YOU are in charge of how much and for how long. There are some absolute feature monsters out there with 40 frame burst rates, fantastic for action, but what use when taking statics of your motor in the twilight zone on a tripod 8 seconds @ F16? A good starting point is in fact the end. What are you going to do with the images. Screen only, 6x4 7x5 10x8 prints, AO prints. With small prints the pixel count is fairly irrelevent. Have had some lovely prints at A4 with a 4meg cam. How many A3 prints have you ever printed or bought. I have an A3 printer and have not printed one yet. Go light on the features other than being ble to take full manual control and go for better quality glass. Put a range topping canon, nikon, contax, mamiya in the hands of a muppet and you will get muppet photos. Put a Pentax ME Super from the 70s in the hands of someone that knows what they are doing and you will get better results.

Grapo Good advice from the snoop. In addition compacts can be a bit limited on their apeture range. Also if you intend to use at events where there is fast action compacts can suffer from shutter lag. the (time between pressing the button and the cam finally taking the pic after focusing and metering) They are getting better and you can work around the shortcomings. But if you really intend this to be a long term thing and intend to learn the art then get an slr, as you will soon grow out of a compact. No need to go daft when choosing a body, as snoop said it is the glass in front of it that makes the difference. Cheap body good quality lens often better than expensive body cheap lens. Pub vs Mosque

Planning inspectorate are the helpful folks to talk to. http://www.planning-inspectorate.gov.uk/pi...ex.htm#planning If this is a periodical thing, w/cups etc, have the planning dept objected in the past?

    Pub vs Mosque

If indeed some obscure planning regulation exists that says thou shalt not paint ones own national flag on a pub. Perhaps it could be projected ala union jack on buck palace in the jubilee celebrations. Given the democratic society we live in blah blah, if the planning department say it has to be painted over (which it is going to be anyway) so you are complying with their request. There is also the right to appeal their decision. Given the time involved in obtaing a response, the w/cup is likely to have been and gone. I think it is the home office that deals with such appeals. Jayson playing by the rules
