  2. Can anybody shed any info on changing my headlight bulbs to LED bulbs?? What Harness i need etc Iam not on Social Media alot so theres probably something on here some where... I just need bit of help...
  3. They are? How do they break? The master is bolted through the firewall? With the cable version, it's usually the weld(s) between the clutch cable bracket and the main bit that snaps.
  4. TRWs distributor are pretty helpful if you contact them, it's ZF something they have an online contact form.
  5. Having trawled through the many listings on Autodoc, it appears TRW do a Gti specific front shock absorber. Model number JGM185T, just in case this helps anyone in the future.
  6. You're probably right actually. But I think the rate will be very close, mainly because the weight over the front wheels is near enough identical to most other 4cyl petrol models. Diesels are much heavier and need stiffer shocks (the coils are thicker too, I found out to my cost of a wasted weekend).
  7. At least hydraulic clutch pedal cars are not afflicted with pedal box failure. Much more difficult to fix. There's even a dedicated thread on the subject. I'd take your old one to your nearest workshop/garage repair place along with a 6 pack of beer. It'll take 30 seconds to weld it.
  8. Thanks for the reply. It appears that there's no OE spec aftermarket damper specifically for a Gti, though. There's plenty for the other models, but I was under the belief that the Gti uses a specific damping rate that was different to the other models. Am I wrong with this? Thanks again.
  9. Also why are these pedals or pedal boxes that arent already fitted to a car non existant 😅
  10. This sounds like whats happened with the look of my pedal. Had to bodge it with ties to get it home 😅

  12. Assuming the metal tab let go and the cylinder linkage now pushes through the pedal? Same thing happened to mine, had it welded back on, good to go. Common vw problem apparently
  13. Have a 03 1.4 tdi sport. Clutch pedal went the other day. Been given this (6N2721321K) part number by VW, but cant seem to find one. Anyone know where to get a replacement or have one available to purchase? Or know a good enough replacement pedal? Can't seem to find the right shape with the slave cylinder linkage on the correct side.
  14. There are loads of OEM equivalent alternatives. Polo? Seat? Skoda? Don't forget that the big brands simply manufacture for the likes of VAG. It doesn't need a VW stamp on it. In fact even some Nissans and Fords use the exact same part.
  15. Anyone? Having looked about, it seems these things are difficult to keep on the road should you want to keep the car standard.

  17. Hi All, I've just discovered that the front shock absorbers on my GTi have given up the ghost (a little annoying after only 56k miles, but hey ho!). Original OEM dampers appear to be no longer available, as do Bilstein B6. I don't want to go down the coilover route and would like to keep the car as original as possible. Can anyone suggest a suitable alternative? Thanks.
  18. ETKA describes this part as, and I quote "knob for locking rod, satin black" - 3B0 837 187 B 01C £2.94 inc vat and available to order. So in this instance, it's ok to ask for a knob, just use the 'locking knob' term and not black knob lol!
  19. I had 4 new toyos at the same time & my gti was terrifying under hard braking for a good few thousand miles. After 6 months of 'settling in' they seemed pretty good but fronts were done in no time. Mine is lowered sensibly and I've never had any issues with fit of 195/45s
  20. Thank you I'm currently using 5W40 oil, it's supposed to have 30 but I accidentally bought 5W40 I changed the oil and filter right after getting the car 😛 It has just hit 212.000km I got it in January right after passing my driving test
  21. I had a scirocco many years ago that screamed and oil light flashing but noisy tappets. Bought new set of tappets at lotsa money but it wasn’t that. Eventually found the problem, it was the sump pickup that was blocked and when clap cold the crap dropped down worked until it just was warming up the the shite probably was going back up to block the oil.
  22. You might be able to find red TRW rear calipers but they are not cheap and i had a long wait for them. I got a pair last year.... to replace the silver ones previously installed by a garage TRW BHQ136E TRW BHQ137E
  23. Yeah, with you- only when low revs and properly hot, does actually sound like low oil pressure. Try a thicker grade of oil by 10 points when you do the next oil & filter change. So if you used 5w30, use 15W40 or something like that. Might help. How many km has the car done? Pic? Welcome to club Lupo
  24. Hi. Im new to this forum and to owning a car in general.... I have the same issue with my Lupo 1.4... Funny thing about mine is, if the engine is cold i can drive for long stretches no issues, no light and no alarms, but as soon as my engine gets really hot throughout and I'm going under 60km/h then it starts beeping and blinking the red light. It scares me.... I just got this car and I really dont wanna scrap it already ... My oil level is perfect and I don't really know what could be wrong I'm new to messing around with cars but very interested in learning! If you find a solution I would be grateful to hear about it. I'm thinking about ordering a new oil pump cause it wouldn't hurt to change it to a fresh one I feel... From reading this post I also think a new sensor and valve could be good aswell. But I can't fix it on my own so I wanna be 100% sure what to get before I buy anything :) Thanks in advance.
