Any noticeable vibrations? Does it sound rough?
-
I don't think there would be any issues from an ECU perspective, but how are you going to wire it in? Do you have the right looms?
-
I had it beep once or twice on my SDI. Usually right on starting the car for some reason (oil was never low). Never stayed on though. @mattarosahad a Lupo 1.0 which had it intermittently for a while without engine failure. Maybe a dodgy design?
-
Uhh, effort. Fine. Got some VHT in the garage anyway.

Brother in law has been borrowing my GTI and got it MOTd. They said it needed a new rear caliper but the caliper they've installed is silver. Do aftermarket parts come on silver or is this likely the wrong caliper?
-
That sounds like the kind of energy a radio might pull if it was wired up wrong.
-
Still for sale ?

You could do with the immo code but I don't think it's needed if you have the original key. What ECU is it?
-
You're going to need to pair it with your immobilizer. Ross tech have a guide, it's not madly complicated.

Check engine light blown, anyone know how to replace?
Skezza replied to Matthew Henderson's topic in Volkswagen Lupo
It almost certainly isn't blown. Your car just didn't come with one. -
High Mileage Oil Change Intervals
Skezza replied to decvalts's topic in Car Care, Maintenance and Mechanical
I don't think you can reset to a specific value without actually changing the interval. You can use VCDS to reset the service interval. -
Do you have the bonnet release handle?
-
No. I didn't use a device. I extracted the pin.

I tested my method on a Polo 6N2 GTI. Friend of @mattarosa it still took me about 20-30 mins. No reprogramming of the EEPROM involved, just obtained the SKC and entered through the front door. So even for someone who knows how, it's not like a rapid hot wire job. Now.... The Audi and Jetta? Different story. For the Audi, I was able to obtain the SKC in a matter of seconds using a £5 'specialist. cable.... Which I found out really quickly is just a bog standard KKL cable they sell on eBay. New key took me no more than 5 mins, sat on the drivers seat. All very comfortable. The Jetta, I bought myself a key cloning device called Xhorse. A local shop quoted me £80. This device was £100 delivered. There's nothing like DIY plus you get to keep the tool of evil. It took less than 5 mins to clone the key lol.

Engine Dies, But Restarts 1.4 16v Likely Causes?
Skezza replied to scotty2's topic in Volkswagen Lupo
Do 1.4 16V's have relay 109? -
There is no easy way of doing this for a GTI. I spent 18 months researching, hacking, and finally cracking and while the solution was ultimately simple enough.... it wasn't that simple.... i.e. a fix in a can simple. There is no fix in a can for the Lupo GTI key situation. We've discussed before the idea of posting my findings. I was fairly deep into a post before I decided to can it off. Last thing we need is Lupo's to start going missing.

Good luck with it. But I have little faith that it'll work.
-
You will need your SKC. Do you have it?
-
Why not just take the transponder out the old key?
-
As in, you'll sand it down, remove corrosion, fill, spray.
-
You'd be better going aftermarket for both those features.
-
Yes. As in filled with either weld and sanded or if pikey then isopon.
-
Tried eBay? Wrecker yards etc? Last roll of the dice is getting them filled and painted.
-
Very nice car. Price is probably about right considering the low mileage. You've got a potential 10 years left in this cars 'normal' lifetime. I think if I was looking for something new...... It'd be this.
-
Novelty factor? It's got all the hallmarks of a great buy though. No Logbook, the MOT run out on January 7th.......... 2021 and it hasn't been taxed since 2020. It runs and drives really well for a car that's covered in weird dog hair apparently. Someone find my cheque book.
