  1. So my Lupo adventure has been a blast but have given up , traded it in , but thanks a million for all the advice and help
  2. Stupid auto correct, to the source
  3. So the question is :is it safe to drive, I’m planning to take it to the vw garage which is 20km away ? go direct tongue source 😏
  4. So todays challenge , I have a new fault code :P0138 o2 sensor circuit high voltage ,bank 1 sensor 2 joy of joys
  5. Lucky it was too big to drop inside ,or it was party over!! So today the Lupo was idling rough and cut out a couple of times at traffic lights . if it running lean would chip tuning help ?

  7. No it drives normal, the only symptom it has is a stutter but only every one and again , I had this before and it got progressively worse until I got the misfire, I took it today for a smoke test for leaks and the only leak was a very faint smoke leak from the overflow from the EGR .not sure if thIs is normal as it’s an overflow? then quite bizarre, I was driving away from the garage and it cut out and started running like a bag of sh#@ went back to the garage stuck it on the diagnostics and it said throttle body problem. we found an Allen key socket in the throttle body , looks like someone had stuffed it in the pipe from the crankcase vent that’s inside the air filter , never noticed it had been cut short and you could see something had stretched the pipe.
  8. Diary of a madman drove home last night temp stayed low no light on 👍 drove to work today temp came up to 70+ no issues no light on 👍 drove home tonight temp stayed low but guess what drove in the driveway and bingo !light came on. serms like there’s no rhyme or reason to this 🙈
  9. So this afternoon I drove to work ,25km the 1st 20km was motorway and the temp stayed low . after a couple of km of city driving the temp went up to 70 and the light came back on . will monitor it again on the way home . good idea to check the plugs ,I will keep resetting for a couple of weeks then pull the plugs , cheers
  10. So I just swapped the temp sensor , seemed ok ran it for a while stationary, went for a drive ran great. when I got back let it run stationary temp got to around 80/90 then the light came on again same code p0171. if I had any hair I would be pulling it out
  11. So after 2 weeks of no issues , on the way back from work today the dreaded check engine light came on, its the 1st time I was stuck in traffic not sure that makes a difference? car is still running fine at this point but code is my favorite 0171 too lean on bank 1. what i did notice , not sure if it’s connected, the temp gauge sits around 70 until I put the heater on then it drops of the scale as if it isn’t working , could the temp sensor be the culprit?
  12. Thanks , I just got the car recently and there was loads of oil in the filter and throttle body , ive cleaned it all out and changed the oil , going to keep an eye on it but had loads of other issues so trying to eliminate all the causes I can, cheers
  13. I recently discovered oil in the air filter and throttle body, I got a cool catch can but am not sure where the best place is to mount it. is it best to block off the air filter or connect the catch can back in. thanks in advance
  14. So , todays adventure. new set of NGK plugs and leads and it’s running like a dream, lets see how long it lasts 🤞🏻
