Vinnyzf
What you done to the rear to get it sitting lower?
DannyParanoid
Just put skinnier wheels on, before it was catching the bodywork before it got to full drop (it still does now, need lower profile tyres) but ive gotta give credit to the guys running 13's all the time, my exhaust catches on everything and ive even got stuck on a tiny bump (before remembering i can lift the car up!) DannyParanoid
Well not much happening here! Wheels are halfway being through refurbed, just gotta be polished and sprayed, then they'll get back on the car asap!
DannyParanoid
So it took a lot longer than I thought to do the wheels but oh well, finished spraying them this afternoon and i'll put them back on tomorrow! Plasti dip is amazing stuff to work with, even for an idiot like me!
DannyParanoid
Well here's a photo of the wheels not on the car, couldnt decide between the colours so thought hey, why not do all 4? I can always peel it off when I get bored!

amykaye92
I think your wheels look great I'm one for symmetry so they would drive me insane - but they do look lovely!
DannyParanoid
Haha thanks! I love it, the reactions people have are priceless! Just need a spare wheel to put on the roof rack incase I get a puncture!

Little Green Giant
not very bouncy is it...?
shearermax
i want it to get some air time
DannyParanoid
If I had more room for more pumps and batteries it'd be quicker and more bouncy, it sometimes pops the rear up, but only by 10mm tops, i'd strip the back out for another pump and more batteries but the whole idea of the hydro's was so i could use the back seats again! Its all good fun anyway, i love the noise it makes!
shearermax
im not slagging it off at all pall i think you should do some crazy ass boot build and get that thing hopping at like 50cm how come you didnt go with air ride
DannyParanoid
Well, air was apparently slightly cheaper, but because bags are wider than hydraulic rams, depending on wheel widths you may not get the clearance, plus you don't have to wait for an air tank to fill up with these, just up and down as much as you want! I have to charge the battery once every coupld of weeks, but plug it in overnight and its done by the morning, all is well!
shearermax
have you thought about putting a different alternator in ??ie a lupo TDI one as they creat more power might be a thought for you
DannyParanoid
I have thought about it, but i havent really been bothered by it, i dont think its worth the effort running a whole new cable from the alternator to the battery in the boot, i'll take some photos of the install in the spare wheel well later so people can see what it looks like in there! DannyParanoid
So, photos! This is basically what my boot looks like on a standard day:And here's all the hydraulics stuff underneath:It all just about fits in, I won't be taking it out at any point in the future anyway so no worries there! DannyParanoid
The joys of being non static suspension, if my front bumper doesnt quite touch the floor, if I lift the back a bit it does touch
Nathan94
Sell me the roof rack!
