Jason_lupo22
Put up a post a little while ago and mentioned that my car had been broken into but i havent had the time to replace the passenger side lock which has been smashed to bits by what i would assume was a screwdriver or something. What would i need to do to get a lock that matches my current key? Would i just need a lock with a different key just for that door? Cheers
lupoluke
Just fit a blanking lug, easiest and probably cheapest option.
Pete91
Yeah I think you would need to change the lock and have a different key just for that door. Do you have remote central locking? If you do you could save yourself the hassle and fit a delock kit?
Skezza
I would just get a different key, maybe fit remote central locking, and just not use the spare key.Don't delock!
Pete91
Don't delock! How come?
Skezza
How come?Just unnecessary in my opinion, plus I know people who have had remote central locking kits fail and had issues getting into their car. I think remote central locking is fine, but just leave the locks there just in case Dump the second key in a draw somewhere just in case you have to get in your car and haven't got your ignition key. Winner me thinks

Skezza
If the rcl fails then there's always the boot hahaI know someone who totally delocked their car, including boot. Went on holiday and came back to find the battery completely flat. Not fun.

space_yam
I've got a similar issue with the passenger side door lock. Didn't think to check it worked before buying. The door can be opened from the inside, but the lock with key makes a few noises but nothing happens, the lock and surround are lose and could be tugged out, so a retaining clip must be missing inside.I've taken the interior panel off, but the lock is right inside the frame and a b to reach. Any one got tips on what should be going on in there?
