Rust in gutters

Door check straps

Alignment of panels

Write off's - don't let that put you off though, if the docuementation for the repairs are there then it is usually ok.

I looked at arosa sport not too long back and it was in terrible condition, paint faded, exhaust needed replaceing, cambelt needed changing, front tyres needed changing, a good service, and to top it off it look like it had been involved in a accident in the past.

check the Pedal Box feels smooth and that the Clutch pedal has not dropped Low.

also check for gearbox whines.

open the doors and see if there is play (they move up and down) that's a sign the door hinges need replacing.

Lupo doors are surprisingly heavy!

Thanks! by the gutters are you talking about the roof gutters?

And how do I check the door straps? What is it about them I'm looking for?

bubbling on the rear arches

Ah yes I've heard about this, and paint flaking off in the arches?

If the pedal box has failed how would I know? Does it feel clunky? Is there more resistance than normal?

And thanks I'll look out for the doors

pedal box failure is a well known fault and this should be replaced full stop ,if not it will need doing so factor that in when buying. the roof guttering design can cause corrosion usually under the rubber so check this carefully. the body work is galvanised and came with a twelve year warranty, paint only three year warranty against rust .if any corrosion is visible i e wheel arches i would think thats possibly due to a ding or stone chips i live by the sea and this usually is a factor in early corrosion but my lupo has absolutely no corrosion and is a 2000 reg.
