Newbie from Cornwall with a 'special' SE

Hi there guys, I'm Paul and along with my wife Kelly, we're big VW fans living in Helston in the darkest depths of Cornwall!

We've been through quite a few VW's including a T4 and a few Mk2 Golfs. My current daily is a stock Bora TDI, very black and very standard!

Kelly has recently sold her old 2f Polo Coupe and replaced it this week with an '02 Lupo 1.0 SE. Whoever bought the car brand new ticked almost every box and as such it has aircon, heated seats, 6 disc changer, remote locking, 'leccy windows, 3-seat rear bench, the list goes on! But the thing that grabbed us the most was the VW Accessories bodykit. Sounds tacky but we reckon it looks great! (Not so sure on the S-line badge though!)

Anyway, enough chatting, here's a teaser pic from the original ebay ad. More pictures will follow soon after I've given it a proper clean and detail. Out of interest, this is the first time I've seen a Lupo with this kit, I'm assuming it's quite rare?

It isn't a se, although i never thought this kit made it to the shore of britain. I amy be able to find a pic for you.

Heres a spanish editon, it is a vw votex kit, i remeber seeing the brochuer and it had starlites with this kit on the same colour car.

I was led to believe it's an SE, however, once the V5 arrives, that will be confirmed!

Certainly looks different! Not seen a front bumper like that before, can't wait to see some more pics!

Nice that you've got all those extras on it too!

Gav :)

Thanks Gav. Yeah, I'll confess to not being that knowledgeable on Lupos but one look at this car and we knew it was something special.

I'm not a massive fan of the kit tbh. What skirts are on it? I'm in agrreeance with it not being an se.

It doesn't have skirts, just front and rear bumpers and a GTI rear spoiler. Each to their own but we like it and at least it's a period kit fitted from new rather than some barry boy special.

As I said, I'm not overly up on my Lupos at the moment, what makes people think its not an SE? Not being shi**y, I'm just very willing to learn!

There are two types of Se. The first type was produced for less than a year (2000) it only had optional softline wheels.

The second one only had the choice of black and green - (what i have) and was produced for just over 6 months. It had specialist 'shark' interior as well and suzuka alloys.
