  1. Getting really sick of this problem now. Spent £200 getting the passenger door catch replaced today as a diagnostic showed it to be faulty. The interior light comes on now, but so does the alarm still..............
  2. Anybody? I had the battery tested yesterday and it was 50% down on charge. I removed and recharged it over night, refitted it just now and the alarm still goes off. Starting to get really hacked off with this now, we can't use the car as we can't lock it............
  3. Hi guys, long time no post! Bit of an annoying fault with the wife's Lupo at the moment. The alarm started going off on it's own accord at 1am this morning, resulting in me stood outside in my jim jams disconnecting the battery! I took a good look at things today and with the help of Google, I think I have narrowed the fault down to the passenger side interior light switch. The light fails to come on with this door open but it does with the driver's door and boot. Also, of late the wife has noticed that once the car is unlocked, if you open only the passenger door, the car will lock itself again after 30 seconds, suggesting that the car doesn't realise that's the door is open. Am I correct in assuming that the alarm problem would be linked to the door switch problem? I have searched the site regarding the micro switch snags the Lupo has but I am yet to come across a 'how to' thread to give me some direction. Anyone else had and/or solved this problem? Many thanks.
  4. Me neither, but then I am probably over 10 years older than the average Joe on here! Will have a gander at it though, I'm slowly getting into photography more.
  5. Just a quick update on the Votex kit front, a pic posted on the SWDubs site shows that the full kit included side skirts. I realise they're quite hard to make out in this shot but I they certainly complete the look with out going over the top. More than likely made from rocking horse poo though!
  6. Cheers guys. 9n it shall be!
  7. The LCR was great but when you've got a baby, rent, bills and only 1 wage coming in, the insurance, fuel bills and road tax really sting! I bought it with my heart and not head to be honest, and paid the price! I thoroughly recommend them though, fantastic cars if you can justify the costs.
  8. I'd say I'm still really attached to the T4 to be honest. Mainly out of all the hours I put into turning it from a rattly old AA recovery truck into a respectable family wagon! Honda build quality, I feel, was on par with VW. MG/Rover? err, not quite so!
  9. I've had a look to see if there's a similar thread around so apologies if this is a repeat! Most forums tend to have a car history thread so here's mine (well, the cars I have pics of anyway!) My first car, way back in 1996 was this awesome MG Metro 1300. So cool to have this at 17!: This was closely followed by such modern classics as a Mk3 Escort 1300L and a Mk2 Astra SRi 1800 (my first real fast car, susequently stolen and written off!). The Astra was reluctantly replaced by a rubbish but insurance friendly Citroen ZX 1.4 and after that a Rover 216. The Rover started an interest in that marque being followed by an MG ZS 120, one of the best handling cars I've had thanks to It's Integra based suspension set up: The 120 was replaced by a 180 V6 which sounded awesome but wasn't as quick as I hoped it would be: After the 180 was t-boned at a roundabout, it was repaired but never felt the same. It was then that I bit the bullet and went JDM with this frankly awesome DC5 Integra Type-R, easily the best car I've owned with it's amazing 220bhp VTEC lump: Whilst I had the DC5, marriage and fatherhood came along so a sensible car was needed (well, it was a 5 door if not sensible) with my first VAG, a Leon Cupra R 210: The Leon's running costs started to bite though so we went out and bought a T4 Kombi which I ran as a day van for a few years: Whilst we had the T4, a couple of nice Mk2 Golfs and a Polo Coupe passed through our hands as second/project cars: Which brings us bang up to date with my nicely frugal but very standard Bora TDI 130 work horse and my wife's Lupo 1.0: Sorry if that was really boring and pic heavy but now it's your turn!

  11. Bullet mirrors will look ace! You've done a nice job on the mount.
  12. I'm liking the idea of an Up (sorry VW, I can't stand the lower case 'u' and the exlamation mark!) and in a few years I rekon the wife will definately be in the market for one to replace the Lupo. The GT sounds like it will be a great little car but personally, I prefer the look of the base model with the retro style steelies. Poverty spec FTW!
  13. Sweet, that looks good. Does it give enough clearance with the hatch open? The biggest problem with the standard is it's fouling our spoiler and rubbing the paint slightly.
  14. If you're thinking steels then maybe consider those from other VW's rather than your original 13's. 15" G60's or the 14" Mk2 GTI 'mini' G60's look great with a coat of paint and some lows.
  15. As the title really. I'm after a stubby for both the Loop and the Bora and have come across this on eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170658838942?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_616wt_689 What do people think? I'm assuming it's not strictly OE quality for the price so would reception suffer in relation to a proper OEM stubby? If so, what alternatives are there?
  16. Very nice, I'm quite a closet A2 fan myself. In fact, A2 was on our 'possible car' list but there's hardly any down here within our budget. It's great to see a modded one, there's an orange A2 slammed on BBS's down this way that I often see and it looks awesome.
  17. Welcome to the forum from a fellow newbie! Nody's looking great, especially with the black badges. You got a proper bargain with those wheels, looking forward to seeing them on.
  18. I know of a yellow one in Helston so you can add that to the list!
  19. Very nice. The sort of look I was after on mine but it's kind of been forced into daily driving, family hack work and is feeling pretty neglected!
  20. Wow, stunning. I wish I had the time to clean as thorough as this! Fancy a trip to Cornwall to do my Bora? Loving the Skoda as well mate, so cool.
  21. Ha! That's fine mate, I've never been into body kits but like I've said before 'each to their own'! My wife loves it which is the main thing!
  22. It's a shame you didn't do the mods before the map. That way the remap will take into account these changes and produce optimum performance. You should really be thinking about mapping it again after you do your bolt on mods.
  23. More pics now up here: http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=90829
  24. After it gained a bit of interest in my 'new members' thread, I thought I'd put up a few more pics of my wife's Jazz blue 1.0. Better pictures will follow soon after it's had a proper clean but I had to make the most of this evening's sunshine! We've only owned it for a week and are learning more about it every day! Looking through the history, it appears that the car was first registered with a VW dealer in London and they were the guys that had the Votex kit and exhaust fitted about 4 months after first registration. This has lead us to assume that perhaps it was a dealer demo car? We're unsure of the spec, as the previous owner advertised it as an SE but a few peeps on here have contested that. It dosen't worry us too much though because the original owner certainly ticked all the boxes! Along with the Votex kit it also has a VW racing back box, Votex pedels, a 3-seat rear bench, heated seats, air con, 6 disc changer, leccy windows and remote central locking. It also has some questionable S Line badges but each to their own! We're pretty happy with it and won't be going crazy with mods. The first of which will probably be a stubby aerial, wind deflectors and new number plates. Oh, and remove the window stickers, including the 'gay pride' rainbow! In the future, money permitting we'd like to get it lowered on some nice 15's but there's no rush! Enough babbling, here's the pics OEM!: Apparently these are pretty rare? Hmm...... classy!

    g60s

I have a set of 14" mini G60's in black with decent tyres sat in the garage that I want rid of. I'm guessing Cornwall may be to far for you to travel though?
