Well, after seeing darkstryders lupo model done on 3dsmax i thought, what the hell, i'll give that a go.

I used to used 3D software at school doing my engineering course but that was very simple and about 6 years ago!!

So, i downloaded a trial and after a few tutorials and a good 10+ hours i had something that looked like a car!!

Heres things as they progressed

Coming along well. You have any old work to show?

cheers mate, unfortunately all my old stuff was done on a simple 3d program on the school computers, dont even know if i still have the memory stick i used to have :/

Looks like you need to recalculate the normals on the side glass, or at least join the vertices.

What application were you using? In 3dsmax I think you could sort it by making sure they are all part of the same smoothing group? But I haven't used it since version 5, many years ago...
