Kent
Right after the accident with 2 bricks, I decided to buy a new front lower GTI bumper. This cost me £65 from VW and in primer. I was quoted around £140 from a few people to repair so thought it would be better to buy new and keep the old as a spare!I'm picking the bumper up thursday and have been getting quotes for paint, the cheapest I could get was £100........ some even wanted £150/£170Is £100 a lot or am I out of touch? Brad.C
Sounds abit steep for just the lower bumper section to me. I'd expect to pay £100 for the whole front bumper tbh...

Kent
The best price I can get is £100, and I don't know anyone working in garages :@I need to know the right people
Ashley
As I posted on edition if Redditch isn't too far for you to travel I might be able to get it done cheaper . . .
Mafyou
Take the bumper to the garages and ask?Maybe they misunterstood youI thought £100 is pretty steep
jamiea7x
im guessing those garages are pricing you for a whole bumper id take the part, because itll need very little prep, so it shouldnt be too much
Kent
I've gone to the garages and got the quote rather than ringing, as to start with wasn't sure on whether to get it repaired so been getting prices for repair AND painting of a new one! techy
oh 50-60 quid mate topsnope, more like between £80-
marcusgrant
my advice would be to go to a garage that you know will do a good job and pay the price. 150 for a good job, or maybe half that for something you're not going to be happy with. Kent
Thing is I keep hearing mixed reviews from people about local garages! I've never needed paint done before so not a clue!
Newnesie
Thing is I keep hearing mixed reviews from people about local garages! I've never needed paint done before so not a clue!Hate to say it mate, but there's only one way to find out. Hopefully it isn't to costly if all goes bad, but could pay off if you find a decent garage.
marcusgrant
southam bodies is sort of near you i think? speak to 99hojhgjlhdsgh, he had quite a bit of painting done on his black gti done there, think he was happy.
Kent
I had my arches rolled at southam bodies, it's a trek away! And expensive too, I want to pay a reasonable price but it's only gonna get scraped along the floor so no crazy expensive paint job!
BEP51
go to a few garages and ask if any of their guys do any work from home, thats what i did, found another vw enthusiast who is currently spraying my entire rear bumper for £80 with him doing all the prep work, he originally said £100, and everywhere else local was saying £120, i could have said £70 but that sounded like a slightly insulting drop from £100, and i do want him to do a good job! jamiea7x
when at the garages getting quotes ask if there is cars about the garage that has just been painted to assess what its like
little rich
100 quid is a fair price, by the time they've mixed the paintt etc its not worth doing it any cheaper!
