Clairey
Well, as you may know ive been looking at getting a loop gti for about 6months now And now ive finally got her Rare colour, 03 plate, air con, low milegae.. what more can ya ask for Got her from west yorkshire! The car is a Cat D, but very light damage! So i thought it wouldnt cost much for it to be all sparkling new again and would be a shame to see such a nice car go to waste Went up there 1st time and i wasnt happy there was more damage than expected. took 4 hours there and 4 hours back Then i got home and wanted her! The boyf hated me Haha! So him and his mate went back up there and brought her home for me! They took her straight to the bodyshop where my boyf's mate works and shes been in there since! Get her back Friday and I cant wait Here are some piccys that have been taken of progress on the way!Big Thankyou to Ben (my boyf) for doing all the work and to his mate for picking it up and bringing it back.. twice!!! the ebay addhttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150386369124&ssPageName=STRK:MEDWX:ITi didnt win it but got a second chance offer which i missed! but i got back in contact with the owner and we aranged for me to collect it. when we got there more damage arose as we looked further into the car that damage being rear quarter and also a couple of bits needed tlc on the car, rear bumper had damage, rear lights were loose (no rubbers) and just genuinely needed a really good clean! so with the rear quarter damage and bonnet was buckled in 2 areas we made a offer of £2k to which he accepted which allowed a nice fund to get the car back to its former glory and better it in some ways pics of the damage...striped down the car to see what was lurking behind...got greeted with this but we got off lightly! the leg held up really well so the end is going to be repaired and then its just a matter of bolt on partsthe parts started ariving and we got the stuff needed from VW counldnt beleive how cheep the parts are compaired to my boyf's Focus RS new gaiter to replace tired old one and then the repairs started...ground back and fibreglassedthen ground flat and thin layer of filler to perfect the surfaceready for primer tomorrowthen the rear bumper! reshaped it back by heating it up! then thin layer of filler to smooth it over needs a bit work and will be ready for primer tomorrow.New front pannel all built up with rads just got to put in the last 3 lights...interior before and after...more stuff on its way in the post and will be an update tomorrow. thankyou for reading
