smithysmoo
Just checking insurace on a Lupo GTi...Same thing as what happened with my golf for some reason its £130 cheaper if the car has an induction kit on it. Not sure why seems mad to me. But anybody got them on theres and which is the best one??????? Ot they not recommended.
Mike_M
Open indection kits sound crap on the GTI to be honest unless you get a BMC CDA for about £130.The standard airbox with a decent panel filter is very good and does not have much of a restriction from previous research. DanK
£130 cheaper WITH an induction kit? Thats confusing... i thought insurance companies usually charge more if the car has been modified.I know an induction kit isn't going to increase the cars performance a huge amount but having a cheaper insurance policy for having one seems wierd
smithysmoo
Yep with adrian flux, just think they get a better discount on modded cars. Was the same for my golf gti which I've just sold to swap over to a Lupo I can pay an extra £56 or fit and indcution kit and they then owe me £15.Yep I find it stupid too.So if induction kits aren't really worthwhile, any other cheapish mod I can do straight off just to put me on the modded policy. academic
i've got a bmc induction kit on my GTI and it sounds lovelyworthy it i'd say, no real noticeable power difference, maybe a bit more responsive but the sounds worth
DanK
Combined with a manifold and full exhaust system there will be some noticable gains. On its own its hard to tell other than it will sound nice, which is always a good thing so i would definatly go for one, as with alot of people on here ide go for a BMC CDA. 2001gti
i had the pipercross one on mine, and it sounded bloody awesum, and very nice if u just held the gas right on the revs just to get it to burble.
Philplop
I love the sound of my BMC CDA.
Defcon5
I heard the BMC wasnt very good at actually filtering the air? May have just been vicious rumours though!
