  1. This needs to go ASAP as i will be moving house in the next few days I am open to offers Cheers Dan
  2. For sale is my Taffeta Green V Reg 1.4s Lupo I have owned the car for 3 years however the car has been stored for the last year in my garage. It has been regularly started and runs well however due to moving house I am unable to keep it. Due to being stored for the last year the car has no MOT or Tax and is SORN. The bodywork and interior are both in good condition and has had the pedal box done as well as a reconditioned gearbox. The mileage is currently 64522. It has been lowered 40mm on springs, has ATS cup alloy wheels however these will need refurbishing - they are not in the worst condition however would look alot fresher with a refurb. The tyres however all have lots of tread. It has a brand new momo 280mm steering with airbag boss - this was fitted just before the car was stored and has no wear whatsoever. The standard steering wheel and airbag will also be included. Other little bits done are satin black badges, rear wiper removed and will come with a bonnet bra and bag. Due to no Tax or MOT and requiring a quick sale I am advertising it at £1000 ONO Pictures can be sent via email.
  3. I had this, something had snapped in the barrel of the drivers side door lock, i had to walk round each time to lock it aswell, i was told swapping the locks was an option but i came across a door lock repair kit on ebay. It came with all the internals of the barrel, also came with instructions and was fairly easy to do and worked perfectly. What exactly is wrong with your lock? Does the barrel keep spinning and not locking/unlocking the car? If it is then i definatly reccomend the repair kit, costs less than a tenner and saves alot of hassle, basically a small metal ring inside the door lock had snapped, the repair kit comes with all new internals so i just swapped the snapped for the new piece and it worked perfectly
  4. Ive been looking on vx220.org.uk pretty much everyday and just now theres been a thread made about Adrian Blyth which is lucky, ive been told its pricey but the quality of the cars are very good which is what i want obviously, ive also been checking the for sale ad's but nothing seems to have come up yet. Im willing to wait for a good one so i guess ill have to watch the site everyday
  5. Max do you know of any specialist garages which have VX220's? Ive heard of purelotus and adrian blyth (which isn't too far from me) Are there any others to have a look out for? I like the yellow ones too but ide prefer red or black
  6. Thanks for the comments guys, been some good points for me to consider Im not really bothered about the banter at work, things like that don't bother me so thats not a worry at all. Someone said can i not stretch to a turbo? It would be lovely too but ill be borrowing to pay for the car so keeping the costs down would always be a bonus, the turbos go for a bit more than the N/A and the insurance is also 300/400 more a year so thats what is swaying me to the slightly cheaper N/A Ive been on the owners club and have been looking at common problems and overall they seem to be pretty bulletproof, im aware of the heaters being rubbish and the locks freezing but like max said none of that would matter when its a sunny day with the roof off Im looking at the owners club each day in the for sale section, seems that some of them are going for as little as £7k, i think if i had £8/£8.5k i would pick up a good condition n/a with the common problems fixed. Thanks for all the input guys
  7. Thanks for the comments guys and Putney your S2000 looks lovely, i can definatly see the attraction with more luxeries such as air con, a decent boot etc The dash does look pretty damn nice aswell. Insurance may be a tad more but then again the car itself will be cheaper, i think ive got to take a test drive of both to be honest, im 6ft 1 so its going to be tricky with the VX but im sure ill manage, ill roll out the bloody thing if i have to, i don't care looking like a **** Ive had my posting for the police too, its a 25 mile drive each way and i wont be touching a motorway at all, its all country roads so definatly some fun to be had on the daily commute.
  8. Thats around my price range too, i don't think ide touch a tvr though, i could see the insurance being through the roof and i think servicing and parts etc would be tricky too
  9. Everyone going for the VX then, to be honest ive swayed that way too, price wise i think ill be looking at up to 10k for a good N/A I know of 2 specialist car garages around my way which have a vx for sale, in this current economic climate i could try my luck and see what finance deals they have, finance could be a good bargaining tool aswell i hope
  10. These are my thoughts too, i love the fact they are so rare aswell, think ive only seen 1 on the road, its automatically gets your attention and you think wow, i wonder what thats like to drive. Insurance is a problem but ive got to face facts that im young and its going to be expensive on pretty much every car over 1.6 A lupo GTI comes out around the same price as a 350z, vx220, s2000 and z4, all of which ive considered, still wouldnt mind a 350z saying that but i think its between the s2k and vx
  11. Insurance isnt that bad, still alot but its only £400 more than my 1.4 lupo, i have enough saved for a years insurance so the rest of the year will be putting £150 aside for next years which i could manage Thanks, still got the final test to go but i should be fine, obviously ill be getting the car if i do pass, ide be stupid to buy one now and if i did fail then im pretty scewed Another thing which is a bit of a worry is the fact ill be needing to save for my own place soon, the police do good deals for first time buyers but its something i need to consider now, working out how much i can spend, save all the rest of it. Damn growing up is hard!
  12. Im looking to get either a VX220 or a S2000 as my next car, im nearly finished on my police training and will be out on the streets in a couple of weeks, im earning alot more money so im looking at getting a vx or a s2000. Im 19, 20 in april and you only live once so i would like one whilst im still young , prices at the moment are good however ill have to either get a loan or finance to pay for one, i have enough for a years insurance saved at the moment and with the sale of my lupo i could put that away for services, tax etc for the new car. i know a couple of members have both on here so i thought ide ask which would be the best for me, i know its up to me at the end of the day but im still a little undecided. Im swaying towards a vx220 however ide go for the 2.2 n/a, i know its not as quick at the turbo but that doesn't bother me, ide still have a great driving experience from the 2.2. The VX is swaying me because its alot more raw and rare and looks the part, i travel light so very little boot space isnt a problem, not bothered at all that its so basic, thats one of the things which i like, im after the raw driving experience and just general fun. The s2000 seems to be a cracking car, great reviews and again looks lovely, i don't know if its a bit grown up though. the price however of an s2000 is a fair bit cheaper and therefore would be easier to manage each month as im going to borrow to pay for it. So what would you do, also members who have these cars your input would be greatly appreciated, the slightly cheaper s2000 or the raw thrills of a vx220?
  13. Is the car standard? Do you plan on doing any mods such as manifold, exhaust, induction? If you are ide get them done first and remapped afterwards to get the best results
  14. A non standard one without an airbag im guessing? I think its fine aslong as the airbag light isnt on which it wont be if you get an airbag boss
  15. Pretty much the same as me then, ive got to get tyres yet though so im not too sure if ill make it, would be nice to have a good amount of lupos though
  16. Personally i wouldn't go for that but its not my car, it really depends on what look your going for, ive gone for 13's and to lower the car as much as possible as thats the only way to pull off 13's. How low do you want to go? Want to keep some practicallity? I have 15's at the moment and personally think they look a tad big and i can't go as low as ide like on them which is why ive opted for 13's. If you want to go quite low but not stupid low then possibly 14's, if not then stick with 15's Its your decision at the end of the day though as you will be the one living with the car, check out the readers rides and see what you fancy, theres quite alot of different looks on here, 13's/14's/15's and 16's so have a look would be my advice
  17. You should have got the airbag boss, it has the resistor built in i believe and therefore the airbag light won't come on, ive just fitted a momo 280 with an airbag boss kit and ive had no problems. Im guessing yours is a non airbag boss seeing as the light is on? Do you need the car as a daily? If not ide whip your non airbag boss off and get an airbag one, im sure you could get a refund and pay the little bit extra for the airbag boss?
  18. I was just going to tell him that too
  19. Thought ide bring this up again, any news on how it fitted? Im looking at getting a longlife cutom exhaust in the next couple of days but i would also like to replace the manifold to get the most from the system. If it fits well without any need to bend it then i will get one and ask the chaps down at longlife to fit it aswell as the exhaust they will make

    Superlights

I think you will need spigot rings and wobble bolts although ive seen some companys making superlite style wheels in 4x100
  21. DanK

    MAM MT1's

Agreed, these look the nuts Dont think ive seen a loop with them on either
  22. You can have my ATS cups with 4 good tyres (slightly stretched) for £300
  23. Just had my wheel replaced with a momo 280 The badge doesn't pop off i don't think, mine didn't but then again i wasn't trying to get it off. Taking the airbag off is the biggest pain in the arse
  24. Love the rasp on that Tallika Reminds me of my pugsport exhaust on my old 106
  25. Spectrum carpark sometimes attracts alot of idiots who speed around, handbrake turns etc. Maybe meet up before no-rice and convoy down to the location, hopefully its fleet from now on
