Clairey Fairy
Is it just me or is are the GTI tailpipes supposed to be all unshiney? Coz ive been poilishing mine like mad but its just all rough and gross.Im off to powerflow on weds to get some NOISE coz i miss the ear bashing i got from my A3. I wana go the whole hog and get a complete new system. Bu the other half reckons i should just get the centre box taken out, or something about chopping a bit out and putting it together i dont have a clue what he's jibing about.SO yeah basically, i just want a nice, deep rumble, none of that scoobie "bob bob bob" rubbish - and nothing chavvy that says "look at me ive just got a bolt on from halfrauds"Any ideas? Joe
The Bastuck has no centre box and according to Luke (db) his isn't to loud.As for the original GTi exhaust. Try some wet and try on it and then autosol. It is brushed so will never come up as shiny as say a stainless powerflow tailpipe.

db
Or get some wet and dry use that with metal polish and work from harsh to finer grades. Worked a treat on mine, you could see your face in mine once i'd polished them up with a cloth style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
nev
powerflow exhausts, Ive now had 8 from them on different vehicles but I only use them if I need a custom design where a standard fit is not suitable. Some have been great and some really crap.Depends on who fits them in the one I use.As far as removing the box goes, I wouldnt just take it out but I would use the smallest one they have just like a bottle size or you will get a chav escort/corsa rasp and you dont want that on a VW do you?Polishing the gti tail pipe, Its a brushed aluminium look, I think it looks ok like that, but if you want it clean there are only two polishes that will do it for me and one is good old AUTOSOL and the other is special alu polish called BELGON.Good luck
Clairey Fairy
Cheers nev - good advice style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Im trying some autosol for sure and see where it goes from there. Ive got a Top Gear induction too which i stole from my A3 but i seriously doubt i'll be able to squish that in?Has anyone had any experiences (good or bad) with Pflow in Basingstoke? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
