  1. Saw that a while back, engine was out a fabia vrs 130 obviously tweeked a bit and the same as the other vag engines. well quick though, would love to do it myself.
  2. They are worse then a renault 5 in an accident. I was looking for one back in the day either that or a ren 5, I went to my mates place (N E motorsalvage) and we looked at the crash damaged ones as there were a few, it was more like spot which one has no blood on he seats, most of them the engine was in the driver or passenger seat, this soon put me off as it dosent matter how good a driver you are some one may put you in the back of something or a post. I would say these days its probably not good getting an unsafe car as a daily runner. N-cap is up to 4-5 in some small cars now and bearing in mind there about -1 if there was one then. I used to sell citroens and I drove a C1 1.0 petrol, there very quick for a small 68bhp car but did you know you can turbo them for not much money???? Now you have a small cheap fast safe(ncap4) car. http://images.eurotuner.com/images/eurp_07..._motor_show.jpg http://images.eurotuner.com/images/eurp_07..._motor_show.jpg But I would still have a Lupo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Im with Adrian Flux, Ive been with them before for a 1971 bug heavily modified and they were fine. The lupo is with them at the moment and they had a decent quote compared to the rest but the main theng was for about £30 quid more I can do any mod I want to the car and as long as I tell them about it then my premium will not change, which think is great
  4. Does it have to be black ? I have a nice blue one here and its a tdi with everything on... http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?sho...c=38894&hl=
  5. http://blog.543club.net/peace/archives/2004_11.html Go right to the bottom of page
  6. I got one in mine also, great for watching dvds with surround sound on long trips to shows, lol! I got a digital tv box on also so you dont miss anything while your out.
  7. its september, the busiest month of the year, if theres no deposit it will go to the first who offers one no mater what. I lost one too like that silver GTI, I found a black one 3 month later though so was happy at that.
  8. Most of them try to blag it, if I dont know something then I just say Look mate I have no idea but I will find out for you. easy as that. CARCRAFT thats french for poo i think... theres one along the road. They make a fortune out of people it was estimated that all the branch in the uk make 45million a week. not sure if its true but I had people come here and they ask for a settlement and they have been stiched big style on finance. one girl came in and she had a c3, it was 3 year old and booked at 3k. she owed 8500 on the car and new there only 7999 but she was paying about 240 a month and had 3 year left, it annoys me cos i try my best to get the finance right for the customer but there game is to get the customer in rip there eyes out then get them out next please. To make things worse me mate works there and he tells me some crazy stuff what goes on what id never do
  9. LOL!!!, I was laughing to myself while reading the above. Im a car salesman myself and its exactly what happens all over in every garage. I have been building cars since leaving school and the mk2 fiesta, mk 2 golf was new. so know a little about the important things. To put it this way I have confused a few mechanics with technical talk thats not wowd for word in there manual. Anyway totaly agree with you as 99% of sales people in main dealers have no Idea what there talking about. I see and hear it everyday and sometimes I feel like going over and putting then right but Id probs not last long if I did. When you work in car sales you only know whats in the spec sheet and for most of them when the car is replaced they forget about it and concentrate on the new one. To be fair we are in it for the money as its a job so the average customer walks in and sees a nice blue car with aircon and spot lights if its a higher model. next thing is how do i pay for it, finance gets the sales man more money and then a few addons. so all they need to know is a few things about the car and how they can pay for it. I hate other sales people. I get letters of thanks, presents, tips. and thats because I will put then in the right car, tell then about the car, compare the choices they have made and advise. money doesnt even come into it until they have got the right car and they know about it. Thing is its usually common sense once you know one or two of the models as the others are mainly using the same parts. spec etc. Some advise on buying cars. go to the guy who knows what you want and you understand what he is talking about, other wise you will be buying something you dont want and he is getting paid extra to sell you it. Anyway back to what I was going to say, not all sales people are ****ers, wether it be house car or computer but 99% are. Im so glad theres 1% have some Idea. can I defend myself anymore?

    bugjam `07

Well bug jam tomorrow, who is going? Anyone traveling from the northeast?
  11. My god ! what a carry on changing the airfilter on a TDI sport with a reiger front bumper on and beeing lowered. Its taken me hours to do the air filter due to the fact the bumper had to come off to get to the air box, this was the easy way after trying to get to the thing from the wheel arch liner and taking the wheel off. Its stiuated in such a place that its impossible to get to the last screw at the front arrgh, its done now though style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":angry2:" border="0" alt="angry.gif" />
  12. theres a guy I worked with and he has a starlet, strange looking thing but he has played with the engine and it is rediculasly quick, 1.3 with huge turbo. I tryed to race him in my vrs running at 225bhp and no chance. wel guttered I want one!
  13. I just took my adjusters off to get the lowest poss and it looks good, only prob is now one side is a few mm off compared to the other but not too noticable

    Slow tdi ?

I just put an additive in mine and it felt more responsive, I just done an engine flush and service too so probs a bit of that too had made the difference

    Slow tdi ?

I worked at a factory and have done for many years, I have done a stint a few years ago driving the cars out when finished and loading them onto the transporters and parking them up (yes I screwed every single one I drove) The thing I noticed is that every one is different, slow ones and faster then normal ones. I still work in the industry and drive different cars every day and do notice the same thing, every car drives differently and I can drive 5 or 6 of the same model and spec and without fain there different.
