CasperGTI
Rite im now set in the ways for the mods for the loop.... got a fair bit of cash now just need a motive, cant decide. Should i stay 1.6 N/A, do a 1.8T conversion or turbo the 1.6?if i stay N/A this is what ill start off with, what gains would you think id be looking at?Nology "hot leads"Schrick cams (not sure on the degree yet still investigating)BMC CDA KitUnichip Live MapThats probably the best bit of about £1200-1300Then from there TB's, Head work... what else?1.8T conversion will cost a fair whack, and i can stretch for the rothe motorsport turbo kit (222bhp) but i need a good £7000 for that inc brake, clutch and suspension upgrades plus a few other things. What do you think? technical answers please! Dblock
i think a 1.9tdi engine pushing about 200bhp with a 6speed gearbox. That would be cool.
CasperGTI
why would i want one of those?
Clouseau
yeah either the list you have said or the turbo kit for the 1.6.other parts you could have for the NA setup are stainless manifold and exhaust system, sports cat, import a gti LSD from europe where it was an option, or was that traction control, one of the 2 anyway.lightweight flywheel, uprated clutch.lightweight wheels.the best tyres you can get.carbon bucket seats.map it for 99 octane shell fuel.go for the 268 duration schrick cams. and to order the correct part numbers, one must be ending in V0 for the variable inlet shaft. Philplop
Have you spoken to Rothe? Apparently they won't sell the turbo as a kit, they'll only fit it. Dubya paid £7000 for just the kit but he knows them, so they let him do it.

Clouseau
£7000 for the kit? is it made of platinum?£700-£2000 is a sensible price for a bolt on turbo kit, £3000 for some nice extras for a perfect final setup.tuning specialist fabricating engineers can make you a custom one off full turbo kit for around £5000. willcrook
you could just buy a lotus elise in the first place though?
scotty
just a standrad lotus elise then though isnt it, a lupo with a turbo on is your own, prefer to make my car my own than buy some run of the mill car which everyone else has. standing out is the meaning of modifying your car to make it personal to yourself! thats why i do it anyways!
