Thats only because you hardly ever drive it... laugh.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Let me tell you, my lupo is anything but a boring drive!

AFAIK mitch's comment after i'd took him for a spin was "Its lost its Diesel'ness"

We've got a 240bhp 1.9PD130 Fabia vRS.

Now that's fast!

1/4Mile in 14.01 seconds @99mph

If you haven't seen it already at SantaPod check it out in this month's Performance Tuner magazine. smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Hi,

Im new and just wanted to add my bit to this post as there are a lot of different views.

Just to summerise on the above topics. I myself have owned 2 lupo gti's. I loved the 2nd one and didnt want to get rid as the first one was just pure problems (probs just a bad buy and a one off) hence i bought a second.

I have owned previous to that a golf gti and a gtdi which i loved and even fitted a dump valve by the derve doctor. This worked well to atract attention but didnt do anything to the benefits of the cars performance.

I then got myself a Fabia vrs which i took up to 225bhp with some goodies and put on my dump valve from the golf. it did the same thing (nothing but make a noise) which i do like i must add.

I eventually sold the kit on ebay and it went for just less then i bought it.

I missed the noise so i looked into making a kit up which isnt that hard and you could probably make one up for under 100 quid fitted, the parts are cheap and even maplin do the bits.

The problem you have with the kits are they do let most of the boost out leaving the turbo having to work harder to get up to pressure ( making your car slower having to spool up from scratch)

There is a solution FORGE do a special kit for the diesel now and it is made for each car but only advertised as i single kit. It works off the ECU and dosent let all the boost free. It works well as the timing is spot on compared to the self made kit which has a delay due to having a switch on the accelerator pedal.

At the end of the day if your going to do it I would do it properly with the ECU kit. Im using one now on my lupo TDI 1.4 and it sounds great.

It does absolutly nothing for the car or your street cred but it sounds good.

Hope that has helped with the subject and even though i have had gti's and there well cool, i wouldnt get one over my TDI.

Oh and the reason i got rid of my gti is i was spending 70quid a week on fuel but now only 25 quid so there is a bit difference there too.

Hi just read this, made me laugh. My wife and i share a lupo TDI and we love it. I've driven many cars slow and fast and race occasionally in classic saloon and i've done some porsche cup racing and some time in vette c5. but when i saw those Audi TDI R10's go round LeMans last year no smoke no rattle 600 odd bhp and over 1100 foot torque, I thought petrol=Dodo. It would have to be something pretty special and very loud for me to drive a petrol car on our roads again and as for going round corners i've never had any prob's with the lupo

Haha the fake dump valves are gay to be honest, but each to their own. I had a tasty dump valve fitted to my ka, but it did have a 1.6 turbo engine fitted.. i thought i looked a bit of a nob with it on the ka even if it did have a turbo lol.

I do like the link to that website.. you have to laugh at this quote...

ive recently fitted this "fake" dumpvalve on my nissan sunny, and i pulled because my new girlfriend thinks i have a turbo, but i really dont know whether to tell her the truth. i would recommend it guys it works!

... or blind following traffic in a cloud of soot...

If there's one thing I hate in this world...

It's cleaning my car only for some knob driving a diesel to cover it in a cloud of soot because he sneezed and touched the throttle.

Yes mate.

My mates got a remapped LCR oil chugger.

Fast as you like, but so boring it makes me sick.

I agree with you about the petrol sport though, extremly gutless.

But Id still rather rag the tits out of a gutless sport engine though <IMG SRC="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif"> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Regards broken vehicles.

Lupo is being rebuilt as we speak.

Polo is off the road as VW doesn't know how to build a gearbox correctly.

Renault is now MOT'd and running as smooth as you'd like.

The Aprilia is fully rebuilt, MOT'd, and 300 miles into being run in.

The Saxo never fails! <IMG SRC="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif"> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

yeah but its a saxo :P
